Hey Wes, will you be willing to trade something for Diamondback?

Racer, you took a standard, everyday Vekoma Boomerang for your first pick. Whatever theme you have in mind I imagine it's going to be hard to trade for Diamondback.

Racer may have a shot with other coasters acquired in these upcoming rounds.

If U2 is coming to Wes' Parc Zooropa I'm there.

Sunday Morning: I made my pick and as soon as I thought of picking The Beast while at church later those thoughts moved to Katie who picked it at 9:47am.

Breaking news!!

Deviant Entertainment has just purchased the lot once known as the Geauga Lake ride side from Cedar Fair CEO, Dick Kinzel, for $10,000. Kinzel was nice enough to thrown in Wildwater Kingdom for an additional $100. Demolition of the water park will begin June 1st. The owner of the Big Dipper roller coaster is on 45 day notice to start removal of the coaster or risk losing it. Deviant Entertainment will retain the Geauga Lake name.

Wow, Deviant indeed Kinzel. There's got to be at least one more Seaworld sign lurking around I could buy.

Markham get ready to jump back in @ #31.

Yeah it's hard to miss a first pick, but I remember when I got put in 2 years ago from the alternates list i didn't make my first pick untill the middle of the second round and i still finished in the top half after voting.

Man, Afterburn is gone; I got burned. Then went my first alternate: Montu.

I respect the heck out of Texas Titan but it doesn't burn your face in the tunnel with Texas heat like the other hyper in state does.

^Why? You're doing a nice job messaging people if they are about to miss their pick, but they should know approximately when their pick is coming up. If they miss it, they miss it. Move on to the next one.

I'm back from the airport. I agree. I did that out of niceness before last year but it's too much of a burden. I think I vowed not to really do that this year.

Well with two rounds done in just nine days (despite three missed picks), so at this current pace it would take 45 days take to complete the drafting phase. We would be done in about a month from now (around mid-to-late June), again assuming we keep this up.

This is a testament to how the players approach has evolved over the years. In the first few years, we would expect to wait about twenty hours between selections because players would take their time selecting and actually spend their clock time looking over the remaining coasters available. Now players are actually planning ahead and making their game plan complete with a list and a backup list and are ready to pick at once when their time comes up. As a result, we move along at a generally faster pace.

^That means my 45 day warning I gave to the buyer of the Big Dipper may interfere with my plans. Oh well.

That also means that my trip to Spain tomorrow will interfere with my selections. Is anybody here wiling to watch out for my turn if I give a list of about 10-15 coasters? It should last 2 or 3 rounds, I just ant to trust that you want use my list as a suggestion list.

Either way, any volunteers?

Thanks, coasterlove already offered though.

I have another question, if North America is allowed, does that include countries such as Nicaragua, Guatemala, Panama, etc.? They're all technically in North America.

I saw the range of North America on RCDB to include as you mentioned but I've always talked in pre-draft discussions about just Mexico and Canada included. That was my interpretation.

Coasterlove, Happy Birthday. Take Markham's missed pick (though it doesn't get you a coaster.)

I didn't think Central America or the Caribbean Islands have any coasters, but if they do, we can certainly include those as I did say all of North America. Alaska and Hawaii have always included, provided any coasters exist or had existed. If there any coasters in Greenland, that's also fair game....should you find any there, then more power to you. This might really step up some research for many of us.

Needless to say, Mexico, US, and Canada contain the vast majority (if not virtually all) coasters in North America. And again, this expansion is only a trial run, if it works out fine, we might do that again next time.

Oops, I about missed my pick.

Sorry, continue on... and Racer I might consider a Diamondback trade at some point, if I need something to fit in my park. But at this point I'm not telling what the theme is, so I don't get involved in any trade wars with evil princesses like Katie!

I'm just picking Katie, after all the real fur is gonna fly when the Canes come to the Burgh!

Yea I get hung up on technicalities sometimes. Central America and Carribean have always been part of North America the way I've learned it.

I was that close to snatch Volcano out of Jerry's hands before he got to it. I have a decent memory. Miss Katie comes first though in line.

Looks like SheiKra track has arrived on MPI (Markham Parks Incorporated) land. Also some concept art, but still no name yet. but we did find out that the land area they purchased was right around the large sum of 300 acres!

Looks like SheiKra will be a pretty amazing coaster! Lets see what MPI has next up their sleeves!

Important!

It looks like DEJA VU RULES may be missing his pick again. If he doesn't make his pick in the next few hours and Apsterling goes ahead and picks his coaster in his own time slot, it would be the second in a row that DEJA VU RULES has missed. I'd recommend eliminating him and bringing in an alternate immediately so that they could select a coaster in that spot.

Also, I won't suggest it for this year since the Draft has already started but in future years, I think it would be fair to allow any alternates coming in to pick the number of coasters to make up for any missed selections made by the former Coaster Draft member so that they can finish having 10 coasters as everyone else.

Last, I'd also look out for Martin to possibly miss his next pick which would be his second as well. His first pick, I had sent him an AOL IM, his second pick he missed and now he hasn't logged on to Thrillnetwork in almost 10 days. Of course it's possible he's checking while not logged in but I still wouldn't be surprised if he misses again so to be safe, have another alternate in place.

The soundtrack to this portion of the Coaster Draft is brought to you by the Riddler's Revenge: "Ecuador!" Riddler's Revenge, Alpengeist are quite of the tall pedigree.
