| Myrtle Beach, S.C.- More news on the new X-Treme Thrills park has been announced. The park has announced another coaster, Sea Serpent, will have a home in the park. Sea Serpent will face off against Carolina Cobra in order to further entertain guests. SS and CC will be the first dueling boomerangs to be in a park together. The park is currently operating under a soft opening and so far no date has been released for Media Day.The park's name still has not been released; the park is operating under the code name of X-Treme Thrills Myrtle Beach until media day, where the name will be announced. Some pictures have been reeased from the RCT2 recreation that show the boomerangs face off. There is also another picture of Rattler and next to it seems to be one of the rumored custom coasters that remained unannounced. There is also a picture of the building that will house the snake exhibit. We also see an S&S tower complex in one of the pictures.

I remember trying to make the old Shockwave/Le Cobra in RCT too. It was difficult to get it as realistic as can be.

^Yeah, that thing was hard to get right. And it's still not 100% accurate. Funny how I started and ended on a boomerang. I guess it's true that boomerangs truly come back to where they started.

ORLANDO, FL- Everyone here in Orlando is throwing a special event the entire week as they wait for MPI's chance to make their final pick. According to sources, the pick will be pretty good, but there will be more new to come with it that will turely make this park a tough competitor. Nothing more has been reported, but mysteriously, all contruction on Patriot has been slowed to a complete hault!

According to my calculations, B-Rad and Deja Vu Rules have until 8:33 PM on June 23 to make picks before mine. If B-Rad makes his, do I need to allow 24 more hrs for Deja Vu?

^ No you don't, as Deja Vu can now make his pick at any time. If he wants to wait for Brad, he can, but he still only has 24 hours from last might.

I have an idea, let me know what you think. Perhaps at the end of the draft, each member can choose to trade one of his coasters in for something still in the pool. Just in case there's a coaster that really shouldn't be in their park, or if they couldn't make a trade with another player, they can make one trade into the pool. Any takers? |

^ That might be a good idea, though it would be tough for me to decide which coaster of mine to trade!

ORLANDO, FL- In some very exciting news today, Worlds of Adventure has gotten hold of Deja-Vu Rules' project, Expedition Everest in exchange for the Patriot project. The trackwork already built for patriot has been disassembled and shipped to the Deja-Vu Rules property to be built. Officials say this is a fairly equal trade as both coasters are of high value. "We are very excited to bring this project to Worlds of Adventure" Markham Parks CEO says to reporters. "It will be the most themed roller coaster of our park and we are proud to get the chance to bring Everest to life down here in sunny Florida!" Expedition Everest will be just under the radar at 199 ft. tall so as to avoid the placement of airplane light markers so as to ward off airplanes, which would have taken away from the experience. The ride part will be highly themed and will feature one of the largest, most advanced animatronics ever built. We do not know yet however, who will be building the coaster and what kind of roller coaster it will be. Here are some pictures of the construction site: ![]() ![]() ![]()

^I thought I saw an article on this thread where Patriot was already being built. It's quite a bother to tear it down. San Diego, CA - It looks like Eagle Amusements had one more surprise in store for the new theme park being built near Carmel Valley. Apparently, the CEO decided to purchase a second used coaster, which had originally operated in Virginia (the first was from Florida), in order to properly capture the theme that they were going for. And that previously unreleased theme will be high up in the mountains, as the coaster going there will be called Avalanche. This means that there will be a total of 10 new world class coasters coming to Southern California, in nine different themes. They are currently planned as follows: Wildfire, a huge multi-looping steel coaster; Viper, a wooden coaster resembling the classic Coney Island Cyclone; Tremors, an out and back wooden coaster; Volcano, an LIM launched suspended steel coaster; Manta, a steel coaster which gives a 'flying' experience; Twister, an old style twisted coaster; Lightning Racer, a pair of dueling racing wooden coasters; Spider, a spinning family coaster; Scorpion, a small single loop coaster from a park in Florida; and Avalanche, a family bobsled from a park in Virginia. This stunning collection of roller coasters will be sure to draw a big crowd, not only from locals and visitors to San Diego, but even Orange County residents who have been to the Disney Parks and Knott's Berry Farm one too many times. When CEO Jerry Swinger was asked why there are no coasters that exceed 160 feet in height, he simply replied "This country's largest military base is less than ten miles away, building taller would be difficult. But I can assure you that when you're at the top of Manta looking 150 feet straight down, you'll forget why you even asked me that question." |

^ Yes, but everyone down here in Florida as well as MPI thinks it is very worth it and it should help bring in the vacationers who like the extra quality theming in their ride experience. Besides, who said that track was a complete waste? Some of the track onsite was painted a different color....

Hey, Jerry, I think I figured out which two coasters will be in the same themed section.

I was thinking to put Tremors and Volcano together, but I think both are significant enough to have their own place. And on the map posted earlier in this thread, they're right next to each other anyway. But yes, it's pretty obvious that there is an arachnid themed section. Which one do you choose? |

^Yeah, I was thinking about Spider and Scorpion. I'm not sure how they will fit into your theme, but that's your call and I'm sure you have it all planned out.

^Well, the park will entertain and educate. Basically, guests will be educated on the dangers, safety, facts, and myths about various hazards found all over the world, but emphasize many in California. Most people would first think of extreme natural events, such as six major ones that I've included (Tornadoes, Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Wildfires, Avalanches, and Storms [which technically includes tornadoes, but those are exciting enough to hold their own]). Anyway, venomous animals are also dangerous such as vipers (deadliest kinds of snakes), spiders, and scorpions, and people should be more educated about those as well. There's more dangers in life than what they teach you in school, those dangers involving driving, sex, and drugs. Read through the previous press releases, the CEO explained this a while back. The one strange thing about the new park was the centerpiece itself, Manta. I, myself have been wondering why the under-sea dangers were represented by a Manta, and not something like a shark or piranha. I guess that will be my next question to the CEO of Eagle Amusements, though he had a pretty good answer last time, when I tried to make him look bad regarding the fact that there are no tall coasters. So we'll see what he says. |

California Screamin' is still available for trade. In another note, ride expert Coasterb has announced that the following coasters have arrived in Washington DC for construction. Millenium Force, Afterburn, Riddler's Revenge, Desert Storm, Judge Roy Scream, Firehawk, Dominator, American Eagle and Capitale Express. Coasterb said that the park theme should for the most part be obvious, and he is asking the public for appropriate (PG rated) jokes for rider hight check signs. Location of the rides will be revealed in the near future.

I guess you could do that, maybe if we gather enough player support for it, but I don't see much of a point -- you drafted a coaster and now you want to throw it back in the pool? I guess people change their mind over time maybe. Like I said if the players are for it, then I guess we might try something like that. One idea I like to try is a way to enhance your park is during the promotional phase is that if you could sign a deal with Coke or Pepsi as your soft drink provider, which would it be? Who would be your food provider? Would you add a McDonalds, Papa Johns, Coldstone, Panda Express, or Johnny Rockets to your park as Six Flags has done or would you select different chains? Who might be your official hotel and airline partner? Some parks work with hotels to provide discount hotel rates or sell discounted tickets and your park might even provide complimentary shuttle service to some nearby hotels of your choice. How might you work any of those out? Feel free to add anything like that to your park.

| What do you mean? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORLANDO, FL- A little bit of news has come today mostly about the hotel resort and some more nifo about the entire park. First off, they have realesed some info about the hotel resort they are building: A 12-story, 500 room luxury hotel named Adventure Lodge. It will be located in the top lefthand corner of the park and will feature a private, hotel guests only entrance into the park. The rooms themselves will feature balconies looking over the Kilaminjaro Safaris (sound familar) attraction in the Africa section. It will feature a large pool themed to a cove with three waterslides including the longest hotel waterslide in the world which will be wrapped around a 30-foot tall, erupting volcano. The lobby will be 8-stories and will have some of the rooms wrap around the top. There will be 2 hotel restaurnats, one a fine dining restaurant expected to see 5 diamonds with food from around the world and another a very nicely themed family restaurant with American food themed to different entrees around the world. As for restaurants in the park, MPI has signed deals with first time, theme park serving chains Pizza Hut and Wendy's. They will be placed moderately throughout the park and will be themed to its location. Another restaurant they mentioned, "American Drive-In Diner", will feature a semi-large 1950's diner replica with booths and a jukebox at each table as well as a large facility in the back that will seem as if you are at a drive in movie with the sky over your head while you sit in your very own 57' Chevy and watch a classic 1950's movie on a 20-ft screen. That is all that they have released today, but stay tuned for more news when they make their last pick in the 2009 Coaster Draft!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Myrtle Beach, S.C.- X-Treme Thrills Amusement Company has announced some new and exciting partnerships with some local Myrtle Beach hotels. A partnership with Breakers, a hotel chain with several locations in the Myrtle Beach area, will benefit the park by offering half price tickets to everybody to stay at any of their hotels. The park will also offer ERT to guests who stays at a Breakers hotel; the park will open an hour earlier for this ERT. A partnership with Coca-Cola will also benefit the park and guests. There will be a Coca-Cola vending machine will be located near the entrance to the park. This machine will be specially rigged so that every 1,000th customer to buy a drink from the machine will get a free bottle of Coca-Cola(we can't beat Leo's free Coke to everyone in last year's draft, but this is a start). The machine has been installed and has already given out several free drinks.
