This concludes the selection phase of the draft, now we will begin the promotional phase of the draft. Here is how it works:

Players get a chance to promote their park in an effort to earn them votes they need to place in the rankings. Everyone is limited to just one post per player; if you need to edit, simply edit that post and do not make another post (and you may want to note the update). Remember votes are determined by coaster collection....you may only promote the coasters you have and and why members should vote for your park based on your coaster collection. You are allowed to list statistics as long as they are accurate and true.

All other promotions besides coasters -- theme, services, dining/shopping, admission, accommodations, etc -- that you want to advertise are to be done only in the general info thread....and feel free to keep adding on to your park, but remember only coasters count in voting. All questions may only be asked in the general thread as well.

One more important piece of info, I will set the trading deadline a week from now (next Friday, July 3). All trades must be completed by then, and must be announced and confirmed on this thread only.

All the best of luck to everyone participating.

Exclamation Trading Period Expires -- Voting Begins!

The deadline for all trades is now expired, so all parks from here on out are final!

At this time, TN members can now begin casting their vote. To vote, send a private message (PM) of your top five (5) parks to me.

Of the 17 parks -- the collection of coasters drafted by each player, you will select your top FIVE (5) favorite parks and list them in order of your top favorite being #1 to your least favorite #5, and you cannot vote for yourself.

Remember all 17 players MUST vote in order to qualify for the rankings. All TN members are more than welcome (indeed encouraged) to vote even if you're not a player in the draft.

I will set the voting deadline for Thursday night at Midnight July 9, which should be more than enough time.

You may continue to keep promoting your park if you choose to and have not yet done so -- it is completely optional and not required.

Good luck to all!

Big Lick, NC

Big Lick, NC-

From the huge metropolis that is Big Lick, Parc Zooropa owner Wes Connell is pleased to announce the details of his super, mega, awesome new theme park!

First up is the announcement that you were probably expecting: Parc Zooropa has been renamed Decades Amusement Manipulation Institution Tract. Which doesn't spell anything of any consequence. But for now we'll just called it Decades Park.

Mr. Connell explains: "I wanted a park with the name decade in it, because frankly all my coasters were built in the first decade of my life, from the amazing Racer to the bear of a coaster Grizzly, each and ever coaster was originally built in the first years of my life."

Local reaction to the new name has been mixed, many were already confused what U2 had to do with Big Lick, NC.

In addition to the new name, the park has had a change of heart in regard to the price of their passes. The new season passes will be $39.99, with daily admission at just $19.99. Parking will however be changed to $50. You can however buy a parking pass for $200.

Park patrons will enter the exciting world of Decades Park and after being attacked by our photographers that want to bilk you out of $20 for cheap, out of focus photos will make their way to the NASCAR Plaza.

In NASCAR Plaza, you will have the opportunity to ride the thrilling Racer wooden roller coaster, now with NASCAR themed trains. Pick your favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Tony Stewart or Carl Edwards. And if none of these are your favorite driver, well too bad! What do you think this is, NASCAR Speedpark?

Next in the NASCAR Plaza, you'll have the chance to ride the now dueling Space Mountain! Mr. Connell spared no expense in installing BOTH North American versions of this classic coaster. In keeping with the NASCAR theme, Space Mountain will now operate as Redneck Mountain at night. Dodge the other track, and dodge beer cans as they are tossed at you as you make your way around Hillbilly Motor Speedway.

Leaving NASCAR Plaza, patrons will come to the Frog Pond. Named for Big Lick's neighbor down the street: Frog Pond, NC, this area will feature old steel coasters rusting in the swamps of North Carolina. No need to paint the coasters in the future, as that would take away from the theming!

Frog Pond will feature several amazing NEW rides! First up will be the newly purchased Loch Ness Monster and Carolina Cyclone dueling experience. Both coasters have been totally re-tracked for a down-home good time! Be sure to bring your bug spray, as you never know what kind of disease you might catch from all the mosquitoes! The Loch Ness Monster and Carolina Cyclone have been renamed: Escape from Mosquito Island!

Also in Frog Pond, we haven't forgotten about the kiddies either. The Fairly Odd Coaster, a junior- sized wooden coaster has been installed and renamed The Flyswatter. It will be sponsored by Bubba's Flyswatter, which you will need to purchase immediately because of the infestation of mosquitos and flies in the area.

Jr. Gemini is also on tap for the kiddies, renamed simply Jr in honor of Dale Earnhardt Jr. It's the world's first Jr. Jr. Coaster! Not only does it do nothing, but it makes tons of money and thinks it looks good doing it!

The next area of the park patron's will want to experience (if they survive Frog Pond) is Cooter's Canyon.

Named for the beloved Cooter of The Dukes of Hazzard fame, Cooter's Canyon will feature amazing hillbilly theming that will be rivaled by none. To keep the area looking authentic, park employees have been warned not to clean the area, or empty the trash cans for at least 1 week at a time. If you really want the full experience, then be sure to visit on Thursdays, the day before trash collection!

Cooter has some exciting rides waiting, including: Thunder Mountain, now known as Bo & Lukes Escape, escape from Boss Hog and his idiot Sheriff Roscoe.

If you survive that (and trust me, the coaster was thrown together last night so you might not survive at all), then the ferocious Grizzly wooden coaster and Revolution steel looping coaster will surely thrill you.

Grizzly -themed to, wait, what was it again? A bear? Oh yeah, a ferocious bear will take you on a 2 minute ride of terror through the parking lot! Who really needs coasters built in the woods anyway.

Revolution will send your spine tingling, as for no apparent reason we have installed over-the-shoulder restraints on a coaster that doesn't need it! Watch out for that final drop, it's a killer!

And if you're wondering why we didn't retheme either coaster? Well it's simple, we're lazy! What do you think we are, Cedar Fair?

Next up is The Swamp.

There's really nothing to do in The Swamp, it's just that we were too lazy to actually clean up the mess left over from the pig farm that used to occupy the land.

And that's it! I know you'll all be thrilled to come and visit. Park operating hours are from 9-10 on Mondays when there is a full moon, and Tuesday - Saturday from Noon to whenever Wes feels like closing up the place.

And for all you coaster enthusiasts out there, don't come to the park expecting to ride every ride. I mean, what do you think we are, Six Flags?

Here is my park along with some video highlights for the top coasters in the park.

Highlighting my park is Nitro, the 230 foot tall hyper coaster from famed company B&M! You'll travel at speeds up to 80 miles per hour and over mile of tracks with hills that never seem to stop.

Montu is our inverted coaster that has been voted as one of, if not the best inverted coaster in the world numerous times since it opened. Montu is one of the fastest and longest inverted coasters in the world featuring seven inversions including a one of a kind batwing element unique to inverted coasters.

If Montu wasn't enough, we have more leg dangling fun for you with Wicked Twister. This inverted coaster launches you 72 miles per hour up two 215 foot twisted towers making it the tallest and fastest inverted coaster in the world. It's also the only "impulse" coaster that twists not only in the front but in the back as well. Watch the world spiral out of control both in front and behind you!

The Boss is a massive wooden coaster that has one of the biggest and fastest first drops of any wooden coaster in the world at 150 feet and speeds over 66 miles per hour! You'll travel nearly a mile over twists and turns and all sorts of hills.

Fahrenheit is the newest coaster at my park. Straight out the gate, the thrill begins as you climb vertically 90 degrees straight up to the top of the 121 foot lift hill and over and back down on an incredible 97 degree angle. If that hasn't already got your attention, you'll head into six inversions!

Scream is a fun floorless coaster with seven inversions. Rider's legs are free with no floor beneath them and the track just inches below. While your legs are hanging below, you'll travel at speeds over 60mph and go through seven inversions. Try not to scream....

HellCat is a wild out of control woodie that isn't the tallest or fastest but might be one of the most fun wooden coasters you've ever been on.

Big Bad Wolf is a true classic suspended coaster known to all coaster enthusiasts. You will swing through a European village and take a dive along the river all while hanging from the track below.

Another classic is Whizzer. This coaster is the last of it's kind and great for families. You sit comfortably by yourself or with a loved one while hugging the terrain while twisting and turning all about.

Last up, one more classic coaster...Demon. Two loops and a couple corkscrews, you don't get more classic than that. A fun ride that's great for just about any thrill seeker, young or old, this coaster has excited millions of guests.

With a late draft start, and late publicity due to congress (cough, class) being in session, and all the time it takes to move the coasters (to my new apartment), here are Washington DC's newest monuments.

1. Millenium Force
With a lift hill towering high above and right next to the Washington Monument, and the Ellipse acting as CPs Island, Millenium will give riders the highest point of view in Washington DC.

2. Dominator
Representing the Executive Branch, Dominator will dominate the White House lawn and share the Ellipse. It will take riders through the twisted brain of any of our recent POTUS's.

3. American Eagle
Lining up double track down the National Mall, American Eagle with its red and blue paint will take riders thru the highs and lows of being in Congress.

4. Judge Roy Scream
Order in the court, please rise for Juge Roy, and scream thru the ride on this great wooden coaster, located on E. Capital St. between the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress.

5. Desert Storm
Take a spin on this looping coaster sitting right by the Pentagon. This is one of the last looping coasters around with no painful OTSRs!

6. Afterburn
7. Firehawk
While Andrews AFB would be more appropriate, these coasters are being built for tourists. So enjoy flying, literally, on these two thrillers at the northeast corner of Regan National Airport. Afterburn is an Inverted coaster and Firehawk with a second relocation in that many years is a flying coaster that just can't stay grounded.

8. Riddler's Revenge
Stand up and stay standing while going loopy between the Department of the Treasury and the office of the IRS on Pennsylvania Ave. This coaster appeared in the movie Richie Rich with a Dollar sign logo.

9. California Screamin'
A gift from the Govenator and Disneyland, California Screamin' is a great family coaster. The closest thing resembling Mickey Mouse in DC is the Tidal Basin, right next to the Potomac.

10. Capitale Express
Visit the National Zoo with your kids who will enjoy a coaster just their size.

Please vote for the new collection of coasters in Washington DC.

Welcome back to Graceland!

This year, our park has decided to do an “Old Skool” theme with the park. We have decided to purchase all wooden coasters. Why, you ask? Because, we are crazy! The park and the management have decided they can not please everyone in the industry, therefore, we have decided to do a lot of wooden coasters. That way, you have very different rides on the same ride throughout the day! You can never lose.

We provide the following coasters for your enjoyment!:

The Voyage: 167 feet tall, 65+mph, over 24 seconds of airtime and featuring 3 90 degree banked turns. This one is sure fast and furious.

The Beast and Son Of Beast: We have decided to make these coasters, that are related by the way, into the longest and craziest wooden dueling roller coasters of all time. With a combined 14,000+ feet of track between both coasters, your ride will sure to be incredible each time you ride. We have fixed Son of Beast from any and all problems by fixing the banking, and making the backs of the seats a little higher, but not high enough to cause excessive brain damage.

Hades: The first coaster, straight out of hell folks! Going under ground, this was the very first coaster to go and do a 90* banked turn in a tunnel. With this coaster, you have a very fast right with lots of twists and turns. This is and will be Voyage’s little brother.

The Legend: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow has come to Graceland and hopes to have the younger crowd whooping and hollering day and night. With a lot of laterals, a little bit of airtime this is the start for even the little coaster enthusiasts.

Prowler: This newer addition to the park has people even more on the prowl for a different ride then ever before. With a lot of floating air time, direction changes and one of the best made trains out there, Prowler, will sure be a hit with the entire family.

Dania Beach Hurricane: This coaster was built a few years back and can stand hurricane force winds, but at the same time produces airtime and a scenic view of the park.

LoCoSuMo: Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain came to us via a sale and was well worth it! The family loves this ride, while not crazy and wild like Voyage, this ride is heavily themed and a very different feel from any other coaster out there. We have purchased new Splinter trains from Gravity Group and will be put on at the beginning of our next season.

New Mexico Rattler: This crazy snake is fast and furious and snakes in and out of itself numerous times to give you airtime, laterals and the whole she-bang!

Wildcat: This furious kitty got a new re-haul two years ago adding the Millennium flyer trains and a lot of track work. This ferocious cat will never let up from first drop to station.

Included in $40 dollar park admission in the 2009 season:

-Admission to park and adjoining water park (yet to be named)
-An unlimited supply of Advil for any aches, pains or headaches.
-One free meal (in a voucher form of up to 15 dollars).
-Free drinks (all day unlimited you get a wristband for any stands you stop at).
-Coupons for games and shops.
-Discounts for the rest of the season of up to 10 dollars for other admissions.

Come on back to Graceland! We’ll see ya soon!

It's a shame that Wes and The Toader didn't vote since they both would've had respectable showings. Although I think it was a huge mistake trading Diamondback in order to get Space Mountain. Not that it matters since he didn't vote.

Wes...what happened? You're one of the last people I would think would miss their vote!

I don't think it matters much that Martin didn't vote nor am I surprised he didn't since he was barely a participant in this year's Coaster Draft.

I think next year, we have to be more proactive on eliminating people when their missed picks start to acumulate or bring back one emergency pick. It seems that once someone misses a pick, they lose interest since they're now "behind".

Congratulations to Leo. Now that he has matched my achievement, I may have to compete next year after thinking I may have retired from the Coaster Draft.

I would like to thank everyone who participated in this year's draft. We entered a new realm for this edition with picking within North America including Canada and the United States. Several of us were able to use our coaster passports to get a few cool picks new to the draft this year. The pool of choices were really rich. I and several others were surprised there were some really quality picks left out of this draft like Raging Bull. I was on the fence with Rampage from Alabama Adventures. The construction and marketing of these coasters and parks took on a new life this year. Thank you Markham and Magnum. It was interesting and then fun to see how you guys pushed it. I would like to thank coasterlove, the moderators, Andrew P., Wes, Katie, our numbers man Jimmy. Thank you for making those picks for our members that send them in for us, making those calls. Thank you Racer and B-rad, the game came a little more alive when we talked about it at SFOG. Thank you everyone for participating and being such great opponents. You really brought it.

Can this win please foreshadow a team I'm following faithfully? Please?

Well first of all, thank you for everyone who voted for me including markham2020 as my only first place vote. I have a feeling I would've done a bit better if I retyped my promotion but oh well. Congratulations to you Leo, although I feel if the 4 that didn't vote would've voted, The Toader could have come ver close to beating you. Thanks for a great year a hopefully it'll be just as good next year.

By the way Leo, don't count on the Phillies going back to back, the Pirates are going to have an epic second half and really make Pittsburgh the city of champions.

I always strive for a non-last place finish...would people have voted different if I had made a final pitch about my park?

I'll admit, I got burned out after the 8th round, so coming back next year is not likely.

Well, considering you're dead, I wouldn't expect it anyway.

And Congrats to Leo.

What? Andrew's not going to come back as Herman Munster?

Rckrazy, Pennsylvania has been pretty lucky. Let's keep trying to rack 'em up for them.

I always like more than one woodie and a pretty good story. The Deviousness just got to me this year. Bo and Luke's adventure snagged on my childhood there.

It's one thing that Millennium Force didn't get picked until #10, and Kingda Ka didn't get picked until the third round. But what happened to Magnum XL-200 and Raging Bull? They were consistent top ten picks in the past and are left out completely!

A fun fact -- the following rides were picked over the Magnum XL-200: Jr. Gemini, Iron Dragon, Gemini, and Cedar Creek Mine Ride....how incredible is that?

Likewise, Demon, Whizzer, Iron Wolf (that was me admittedly), and Viper were picked over Raging Bull.

Maybe I'll do a little bit better next time. At least I can't do much worse than what I did.
