Coaster Draft 2009

The 2009 Coaster Draft is now underway!

Here are the rules:

Players will have 24 hours to make their pick; once the player as made the pick or 24 hours has passed, the next player may then start making their pick, although the member before will still have the chance to draft if the next person has not picked yet. If the member after you has already picked, then you cannot make your pick. There will be no emergency make-up picks, so if you miss your chance to pick, you will forfeit that pick. If an alternate does replace an active player who has missed their picks, then the alternate is allowed to make the pick up.

All coasters selected must be in North America (Mexico, US, or Canada).

All coasters must be open or scheduled to be open this year.

Coasters that are no longer standing or not running this year are not eligible.

A coaster can only be picked once; once it is selected, no one else may select it again.

When making a pick, I'd prefer, indeed recommend, that you list the full name of the coaster and the park it is from to avoid any confusion and make your pick clear.

About making trades: For trades to be official, both sides need to officially agree to the trade by posting here saying that you either announce or confirm the trade in question.

This thread is only for making draft picks, announcing/confirming trades, and important announcements made by the coordinators. All questions/comments and trade propositions should be directed here.

Parc Zooropa's first pick of the 2009 Coaster Draft will be: Diamondback - Kings Island.

Which incidentally Wes, founder and owner of Parc Zooropa just rode this past weekend, and is his new #1 steel coaster!

I believe my first pick in 2008 was on Cinco de Mayo and that got me El Toro. It's taken already but keeping with tradition today I will take his close brother: Bizarro, the Golden Ticket coaster formerly known as Superman Ride of Steel, Six Flags New England. A Coaster Draft dream of mine has come true.

Andrew, I'm a lil insulted with that name; that I don't have a corporate sponser. The name should be Leo Hot Wheels Chump City. I'll take the extra money towards coaster construction costs. :P Anyways.

The clouds collect over a darkness, swirling. Lighting strikes. A howling wind picks up. Then suddenly a screeching bird swoops in spitting fire! The Phoenix has returned!!! If I had to choose a mom pick it would be Phoenix. She's seen it in person though she doesn't ride rollercoasters. Her temperament could also match it. Back to my original plan.

Phoenix at the beloved Knoebels - Elysburg, PA. I would like to celebrate Mothers Day by giving the next pick to Mother Katie.
