Coaster Draft 2005 (ALTERNATE) sign up

Since there was a lot of interest and I had to turn away a few people, I've decided to start an alternate draft. I came up with the idea when chatting with CP_CollegeGuy. He has agreed to be the one that would mostly moderate the alternate draft. I would help when possible but he would be running the alternate draft for the most part. He said that late May would be a likely time for the alternate draft to start.

Remember, these will be two seperate drafts and TN members will only be allowed to be in one or the other. Oh I just had a brainstorm. The winner of each draft can then have a faceoff somehow to be determined later. TN members can now sign up for the alternate 2005 Coaster Draft. Any questions should be directed to CP_CollegeGuy.

I guess it's like starting a second conference in the coaster draft, but we may have to expand to coasters worldwide so to ensure there will constantly be plenty to select from.

We shouldn't move to world while. If we have two different drafts you can still pick the same coaster, but not in the same draft. For example. draft 1 might pick S:KC and then draft 2 can also pick it. It doesn't matter you can pick the same coasters for both drafts.

2005 Coaster Draft Pool #2 Rules:

Sign Up: Participation in the draft is limited to the first 15 "confirmed" members. You must be confirmed to be eligable for the draft. Please enter your created park name (discussed below) if you wish to participate. Once it is confirmed that you are not registered for the other draft and that you are a TN member in good standing, you will be allowed to participate.

Drafting: There will be 12 rounds for a total of 180 coasters. The draft order will be assigned a few weeks prior to the start of the draft and will be determined by Coasterlove and CP_CollegeGuy. I will post a complete 12 round pick list so you know exactly what picks you will have. To make the draft order more fair, we will pick similar to how Yahoo runs their drafts where at the end of every round the order reverses. For example, the person with the #1 will pick in this order: 1, 30, 31, 60, 61, etc. The person with the #2 pick will pick as: 2,29,32,59,62 etc. The person with the last pick in the first round will have the first pick in the second round, such as: 15,16,45,46, etc. If you have any questions, please PM me.

Banned: If for any reason you are banned during the draft, you will forfeit any picks that come up during the time you are banned, no exceptions. Also, if it is a permanent ban, you are eliminated from the draft. So stay out of trouble.

Coasters: We are once again only picking coasters from inside the United States and they must be active coasters. If a coaster is experiencing downtime, this does not mean it's not considered an active coaster. But if a coaster has not run in over a year or so or is not even standing any longer, it's not active. Also, once a coaster has been picked, you may not pick it. However, if there are clones of that coaster, you can pick those. Be specific in what coaster you pick by also naming the park it resides at.

24 hours When it is your selection, you have 24 hours from when the person before you has selected their coaster to pick your coaster. Also, depending on the situation, if I see that you are online and posting elsewhere and are neglecting to check the Coaster Draft, I will PM or IM you to remind you it is your turn. If you still haven't picked within a six hour span, the next person will be able to choose.

You can't be online all the time: If for some reason, you think that you won't be online during your pick because of any reason, PM or email coasterdraft@sridaonline.com your selection of coasters that I will pick for you on your behalf. It also helps if I have your AIM s/n.

Voting: The winner will be determined just as it was last year. Everyone on TN will have the opportunity to PM CP_CollegeGuy their choice of the top parks giving them points based on their order. They will submit their top 5 parks in order, and those parks will receive points #1:10 pts. #2: 8pts. #3: 6pts. etc. The total score will be added up for each park, and the winner will be the park that scores the highest.

Park Name: As each person registers, please create a FICTIONAL name for your park. It must be appropriate, and can not be the name of a real park. This name will be used when your park is listed for voting. Be creative, but be appropriate.

Well, I'll try and keep it going one way or the other. If the ban stands, I will moderate it and also see if anyone wants to help me out with it. So if there are people interested in it, don't hesitate to join.

I'll keep it going if other members show that they're interested. So far we only have two people who said they would be interested in it, three if CP_Collegeguy is allowed to come back.

So don't be afraid to join. I will keep up with this draft also as long as there are the members interested in it.

I'd want a minimum of 13 members.

The draft wouldn't start until some point in May at the earliest, possibly June. If I do moderate it, park names won't be nnecessary. And also the draft order will be the same every round to make it easier if I moderate this draft.

I'd do this, but I don't want to be apart of the "outcasts that aren't good enough to be in the main draft" draft. I don't want to be degraded like that, especially because I was in the original and I supposedly missed a pick that I made. Thanks for making false accusations Coasterlove...

No problem. That's what I'm here for. I may have made a mistake in saying you missed a pick but that's not why I didn't allow you to join this year. And since you want to be a prick, I'll tell you and everyone else why I haven't allowed you to join. Everyone that participated in the draft was supposed to vote and you chose not to, it's as simple as that. That was a rule you didn't stick to. Then later you joined sfft_2108's fantasy draft and when you were losing, you quit and dropped all of your players which was also against the rules of that contest. So it's pretty obvious you have something against following rules. It's a lot of work doing the draft and trying to keep everything in order.

You try keeping over 100 picks and coasters in order, trying to keep track of 15 members and when and what they're picking, trying to remember when you have to make a pick for someone because they will be away from TN for some time. It was and is a lot of work trying to do it all. So yeah, I want people who are going to take it seriously and participate when it's their turn, not just to pick but also to vote and everything else that goes along with it.

I'm all for following rules, but I'm not for losing, so why shouldn't I have quit when I sucked? If you're not good at something, don't practice, give up.

If that's the case, why couldn't you follow one of the most simple rules about voting for best park? Also, how would it be if a few people didn't like how their park was turning out and just decided to quit? It would make everything more difficult and who wants to honestly win when all those who are losing are just dropping out?

With your above post and everything else you have told me in the past, I think you have answered your own question of why I didn't invite you back this year.

Yes, you're in. I've decided that regardless of how many people sign up for this one, I'll continue this draft. If it isn't a lot of members, it will just be completely seperate and there won't be a playoff at the end but will have a competion with the other members of this draft.

I was going to try and do two "conferences" but if this "conference" doesn't have a number of people close to the number of members in the other conference, I won't have a playoff between the two. It wouldn't be fair since a conference with more members wouldn't get the selection of coasters that a smaller one could. So far there are only 5 or 6 members in this one. So if I don't get considerably more members in the next month or so, I'll stick start it but there won't be any competition between the two at the end. Each would be entirely seperate.

Ok, it's getting close to that time. I hope everybody remembers the draft. I will be starting it soon. I'm looking to see when would be good with most people's schedules. I'd like to start it next weekend if possible (May 13-15) or maybe the following weekend (May 20-22). Let me know what works for you and I will try to be accomodating as possible for most everyone.

Remember, this is the alternate draft. Only five members said they were interested, so this will be completely seperate from the other. There will be no playoff or head to head battle at the end of it. Let me know if you're all interested still. I won't moderate this one as much but I will still check in periodically to help if there are any issues and just to make sure it's going relatively smoothly.
