Oops. Totally curious as to how they busted the guy. Surveillance? I'm sure the bigwigs would have just put him on probation if the prize value was like $5, but a giant stuffed animal valued at over $109? (More than a days worth of salary for a SF employee). He had it comin! |

Valued at $109.00 by WHO? If you think they're paying that for the prizes, you're gullible.

They probably only paid $10 for it at most if it was a giant Scooby.

It reminds me of a scene from Adventureland (2009). A veteran of the park's Games department is showing the protagonist the ropes, and finishes one summary of a game with something to the extend of "...if somebody wins a big-ass panda, don't bother showing up to work the next day." Damn, I forgot the exact quote.

^ LOL. I forgot all about that in Adventureland.

This is funny because as a former employee of Carowinds, I do remember hearing something about Games employees getting into trouble if too many of the huge prizes were won by the guests.

| That's close to what I make in a week. I don't know how Carowinds handles employees and games, but at SFOG we're not allowed to play games at all. I want to know how he helped the person win. Some of those games are impossible to win.

^ Holy cow, what's the minimum wage in Georgia right now? In a WEEK? Anyway those midway games are rigged in the parks' favor. I never play them. |

Minimum wage is $6.55/hour. I only work about 5 hrs a day, 4-5 days a week, minus taxes, comes out to about $130-$145, so it's close to that number. My last two paychecks were $98 and $146.

I worked at the Frontier City park (owned by Six Flags by then) back when $5.15 was minimum wage, and I still made more than $210 a week after taxes (take-home) and even with lunch breaks counted out. Yeah I worked a lot of hours, but that came with being a lead.
