This looks like a fun little ride. As long as people aren't disappointed because they were hoping for some huge thrill ride as this won't be a speed demon by any means. They give speed in feet per second. Breaking it down to mph, it's top speed will be 24.5mph and it's average will be 13-14mph. Despite that, I'd really like to visit Holiday World again and give this a spin. Although my bigger reason for wanting to go is to ride The Voyage a few more times. With this new ride as well as the one they added this year, it shows they're interested in adding rides that use more advanced technology. I think it's only a short matter of time before they get a big modern steel coaster. I think it will help to round out their collection of rides and attractions.

I am so looking forward to this. However, I thought I read somewhere that the speed is normal for a water coaster. I think it will be very thrilling and fun.

The ride looks like it will be pretty fun, but I'm not really a fan of the name. Compared to all of the other water park ride names, this one seems kinda plain.

Wow, now parks are adding rides we only thought possible in Roller Coaster Tycoon?

That's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the picture of the layout.

^^You do know that SFKK debuted one of these in 2008, right? PS: Looking at the pic, holy crap, that really DOES look like an RCT slide. But not as RCT ish as this: Baishinji Park Last edited by Jimmy B; 08-14-2009 at 12:58 AM. Reason: consolidated the double post |

I really hope HW doesn't continue in their quest to have the tallest and fastest of everything. That's what Paramount did and we ended up with Son of Beast.

If it's just one raft with 4 people this thing is going to have seriously long waits. 4 people every 2.5 min. I think i'll pass on waiting for this thing unless there is only like 20 people in front of me. I just don't feel like waiting 4 hours for a water slide.

^You mean you believe that Will Koch and ProSlide would have enough foresight to build the world's longest water coaster with decent capacity? Are you sure?

This seems like the perfect addition to the park. It'll fit in like it has been there for years.

Okay, so when Six Flags names a wooden coaster after Terminator, it's awful, tasteless, and doesn't make sense. But a water slide named Wildebeest? How is that any better at all? If I'm naked except for a pair of swimming shorts, the last thing I want to think about is riding on the back of a wildebeest. Good job Holiday World, and fellow Thrillnetworkers for not noticing this stupidity earlier. And before you tell me a wildebeest fits the theme for the location, that's not what I mean, I mean how the type of ride doesn't go well with the name, in the same fashion which everybody argued a wooden coaster named terminator. |

Hmm, let's see: It's called Splashin' SAFARI, hence the rides all having an African theme and names. Clever, no? And, "everybody" didn't rag on Six Flags for naming a wooden coaster Terminator. I can name at least one TN member who couldn't have cared less, and still doesn't. They're just names. Anybody who whines about them obviously needs more in their life to think and worry about.

That's true. I guess a GCII will get more attention (good or bad) then a water slide.

The records only last so long. It does make sense they got a water coaster with the popularity of Splashin Safari plus the fact that SFKK is a competitor just down the road and it has Deluge. |

| Very true. A GCII isn't a GG by a long shot, but it beats a water coaster every time.
