Does anyone else find it a little weird that its theme is for making moonshine?

I think it's good news for that genre to see a new ride when many are being torn apart. I do not go to the waterpark extensions but this is a tolerable kind of ride for my theme park visits.

Booo.

I'm fine that it's not a coaster, but it doesn't quite look like what they needed to replace WWL. That waterfall alone looks like it drenches you. They needed something that got you a little wet, but not soaked, and this looks to be more towards the latter. Maybe It's not a bad as it looks, but as of now, I'm not pleased.

They are going to be doing a pointcast that addresses how wet you get.

I'm excited for this ride!

No Katie, because it incorporates some of the scenery on PaddleWheel Excursions.

And besides, people rip Cedar Point because of the lack of theming. Well, there's your theming.

I do have to say though, that I like the fact that they brought back an old name, albeit spelled differently.

Hopefully you don't get as wet as it seems. That's really my only problem; I don't feel like getting soaked. That's why I don't ride SRF and TC.

I'm happy with it. The park needed a new flume ride badly after getting rid of White Water Landing. This should be good, and it's good that they're keeping it in the area with the water rides. I'm wondering where exactly the entrance will be and how long the walk to this ride will be.

I am also pleased with it. Looks like a quality ride. Watching the POV video, the lift hill looks like a coaster. I'm not sure they won't count this as number 18.

The fake rock making gnomes worked on Maverick right? They will get back to work during this recession to make this theming. This ride will probably beat Holiday World's Pilgrim Plunge. I saw it operate in person and it doesn't look like it really drenches anybody.

It doesn't, unless you put your arms out to try and get the water.

I don't know which will be better, but I assure you that a front seat ride in Pilgrims Plunge is a guaranteed soaking. You get hit in the face with a spray most of the way down

I don't really get why they are adding this... it doesn't seem any different then what they already have with Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon. It really just seems like the two rides combined into one.

Also, I fail to see the point of the whyte lightning stuff. Why do all the hype around that and then announce a ride with a fairly lame name. Oh well

Shoot the Rapids was the name of the log ride they had before White Water Landing (yes they also had the Mill-Race, but that was another log ride), why they chose to resurrect the name is beyond me, still it tells the story of what the ride is (a sort of water-coaster.) I would have preferred they kept WWL, perhaps found a way to interlace it with Maverick, but I guess that wasn't possible.

Something I don't get, it says the restraints are over the head restraints with handgrips...I hope they don't mean shoulder restraints...that would be a first for a water ride (and I don't like the ones they have on Maverick, they are quite painful.)

Since Cedar Point seems to be resurrecting old names, maybe their next roller-coaster will be a wooden wild mouse named "Scamper"...

^Remember most of us live in a lawsuit happy country. That's the reason behind such restraints.

Well, I was half right with my guess of a flume themed to an old bottling plant.

It does look pretty cool though, not sure if I'll ride it as I barely ever visit CP in the summer months.

The whyte lightning refers to the moonshine theme that STR sports. If you look at the promo of the white lightning, it is a bottle with the XXX logo on it, much like an old cartoon jug that you knew held moonshine. And white lightning used to be a common name for moonshine.

It's like the drops are backwards! The biggest is first?

^I was wondering about that as well. Although with coasters, the biggest drop is usually first.

I am really surprised at this announcement. The ride seems completely uninteresting. Plus, the first drop is larger than the second. I am sitting here trying to figure out why they didn't go with a water coaster of sorts.

They are Over The Head T-Bar restraints. Just like Millennium's restraints, only these ones come over the head.

Intamin Water rides have no closing restraints and people have been killed. So now if they build a larger steeper water ride they have OTSRs.

In all I think a water ride is a great addition, but there is a lot of hype over a flume.
