Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring you: The Bat

After 25 hours of work on the supports, I am finally done. There's a little story that goes behind this, and let me explain.

I started working on this coaster about four weeks ago, maybe more. I was still in school. For some reason, I wanted to make this coaster since I hadn't seen anyone else attempt it. I started work on it and worked ten hours on supports, but gave up after a while. Every time I would place a node and try to move it, it would take about five seconds for it to be selected. The same happened when placing custom supports. It would take a while for the support to show up, so I had to wait a while to place supports. That lead to a big pain in the butt. I just sort of assumed this was how it was with everyone doing this game, but I guess it's not.

My video card would also not handle the game too well. Nearly every time I would open a coaster, the game would crash a bit into running the coaster. Fast coasters (over 50 mph) would crash the game frequently, too. It was a pain in the butt an I stopped working on my coaster and No Limits all together.

(small note: the coaster's okay. The supports are great. )

A few days ago I updated my video card drivers and decided to work on The Bat again. I opened it in the editor and to my surprise, supports and nodes were being placed, selected, and moved with no problem at all. It was running fast! I got the motivation to finish up my coaster and here it is for all (with No Limits) to download! Ladies and Germs, Haux presents PKI's...

A screenshot for you to drool over. Note: to ride it correctly, push Q, then flip yourself over until the track is above ya.

Another note: The lateral G's will get sorta high in spots. That's how it's supposed to be. Just imagine it's a suspended coaster and the cars are swinging.

Cool Review

Bravo!

This is one of the reasons I'm glad we have No Limits. This resurrected classic looks great in the simulator. Fantastic job on the supports, and the ride wasn't that bad either! I really have no other critiques except to say I can't wait to see what you do next!

I loved the Bat, well before the Vortex took over. This recreation is a very nice job. PKI "veterans" should check this out.

Nice Coaster! It was cool the way you used the Steel Coaster track style to make the track look like a suspended coaster! You like making re-creations don't you!? 90/100

Ecellent! Nice job on this recreation. I bet it took along time to do those supports and they turned out nice. The ride itself wasn't bad either. I was wonder what kind of track you were going to use, and if you were going to bank the turns to create a suspended feel or if you were going to leave them unbanked like the actual ride. Anyways, nice job on this ride.

I love making recreations and I'm always on the lookout for a bigger challenge. After this one, it's gonna be pretty hard to top.

I'm thinking of releasing one with actual banking in it so it'll feel like the coaster. What do you guys think?

Yeah a real version would be cool b/c on this one you don't get an actual sense of what the ride is like. I say make a real version.

Here's the version with banking. Some of the banking may seem funny like banking on lift hills and brakes. Just ignore that since the cars would be swinging during those parts in real life.

Very cool. Quite enjoyable. That ride looks so cool from the few pictures that I've seen. Arrow really messed up. I mean, think about it, cars that swing are going to put more force on the track than non swinging ones. But that's besides the point. Great job. Keep up the good work.
