Ok. I started this so we can talk about the entries for the NL contest of January. This is the prize.
I think its interesting. But I would have no use for a SF season pass. I get into them for free anyway. And im not entering because im not experenced enough. Are any of you entering?

Everytime I ride a coaster, it valleys. I've never been on a stalled coaster or had one roll back (except Wicked Twister and what was Superman: Ultimate Escape, which does that by design).

just curious, how did you come up with it has to have two inversions? did you just pick that number randomly?

oh, and when are group 2 entries for the nov/dec contest due?

top to bottom? Top to ground? Top to bottom of build area in the editor?

It's been fixed to say at least 2 inversions. You may have more.

The Nov/Dec will continue to run as planned, and the second group is January 8th I believe.

Riscit: From ground to top of track. And about the lats, how is that not realistic? Maybe if that was a vertical g restriction, I would understand that not being realistic, since that would be very hard to do, but those are normal lateral g restrictions.

So as long as the lift has 150' of space between it and the ground, I'm good? Even if the rest of my terrain is up hugging the track and my track never goes anywhere near that low point?

Not restrictive enough. 1.5 on a B&M standup?

How about this, your ride must drop at least 105ft.

1.5 is a good restriction. Most probably stay under one, but 1.5 isn't bad, just might be a nice head bang

It is. But it looks cool. I would wait a little. So I could modify the ride in anyway. But thats just me.

its that time of month again...

when i realize i'm not going to have time to finish my contest entry because i have too many other things going on (and i just couldn't get the descent double zero-g that i was aiming for so that put a damper on things). oh well, maybe next time.

Can someone on the admin side confirm that my entry "Dust Devil" http://www.thrillnetwork.com/speedzo....php?file=1034 was entered into the contest? My picture was too big and when I resubmitted, I didn't notice if the box for submitting to this month's contest was still checked.

real, if you win i'm going to lose all respect for you. if you gave it your best effort that would be one thing, but to throw something in like this isn't cool. some people actually have to try for these things.

I had been working on this since day 1. I just didnt tell anyone. I went through 3 versions of the ride till I got something I was happy with. I love the layout in this ride, but due to many time constraints as of late (trying to get a promotion isnt always easy) so my NL time has been cut way down.

I Thought I owed it to myself (and to RiscIt) to upload this ride.


Ill be honest however, is there anyway I can denounce the prize and trickle the stuff down? Personally I WOULD like to work on another contest and submit a much more worthy ride. CAn I do such a thing and still be eligible? I uploaded that ride mostly because I put in so much time and effort when I could.

i'm sorry, i got the impression that it was thrown together at the last minute just to get a free season pass.

Oh heck no. The supports were, but thats only because I sank 1 month into 3 different designs and I didnt want all that to go to waste.


However, I would be MORE THAN happy to deny my entry and any winnings. Personally, I think a more polished design would be better to show for both NoLimits website AND to represent Thrillnetwork.

Trackwork isn't everything, in the Co-op contest you came pretty close to getting second.

I would hope that its not and I didnt think we would really win by much if we won at all reguardless. Ive just been super busy the last couple months.


So, is there a way I can forfiet my placing and be eligible for another contest?

For the other half of how I'm involved...

I was going to work on something originally.. I even got a nice begining laid out. Then I realized Real might enter. Now the only reason I would enter myself is for the season pass. I'm reasonably sure I could take the rest of you (how's that for an inflated ego?!) but I know I couldn't take on Real and come out without a bruisin. So.. I asked real if he was participating. He said yes. As a result I opted not to submit anything, because quite simply, I don't have time to perfect a track for a contest I have no hope of winning.

Real worked on his track.. and then I got wind that he may not enter it. Well you can guess how that set with me.. So I gave him an earful, and convinced him to submit it.

That's how I'm involved.

And jeez.. even if he had throw it together at the last minute.. so what? Real's good. Arguably the best. That doesn't mean he isn't allowed to participate in open contests. He needs a season pass for this summer just as much as every other coaster freak does, and if his 'leet NoLimits skills can get him one with a minimal of fuss, more power to him.

Real, you didn't win any prizes for the Coop contest, and you can only win the seasons pass once a year, so it's not like you're robbing the free world or anything.

Don't everyone get all pissed at him for being good. Be thankful for the tracks he has made, especially the recreations.

BTW I'm going to be nailing you hard because you've got the most skill.

Good, I dont WANT to win for this contest. So rip it up! (No really, I mean it)


I would rather represent the site and NoLimits with a ride thats polished and contains more than like 4 custom supports. :P
