April 2006 Unofficial NoLimits Contest

Sorry I was busy with personal stuff, I didn't think of these TN contests for a time... well because time is a few days shorter now, I will make the contest a bit easier. The goal: make a Vekoma-like semi-compact multilooper.
  • You must use the Corkscrew Coaster type.
  • Vertical G's must be between -1.5 and +5.
  • Lateral G's must be between -1.8 and 1.8.
  • Only one lift allowed, no launch allowed.
  • Only one station allowed.
  • There is a minimum of four inversions. These can be of any type and don't have to be all different.
  • At least two trains must run, each of length at least six cars. There is no maximum.
  • Must not be too spread out. Does not have to be super-compact. Track and supports, including Foundation Nodes, must fit in a 110 x 60 m, i.e. 361 x 197 ft. rectangle.
  • 3ds are allowed, but will not be judged and the ride should work without them (i.e. not depend on 3ds for supporting).
  • Trees are allowed, but will not be judged. No terraforming.
The parks will judge the ride on
  • Building technique such as G-forces, smoothness, blocking, supports, track shaping.
  • How fun the ride is.
  • Original or unique ideas.
This is an unofficial contest, there is no prize.
The deadline is April 30, 11:59 Eastern Time (US). Let your creativity flow and make something of it. In the first week of May, we hope to get judging done.

Use this thread for questions.

I think I might just enter this, I've been wanting to create a basic Arrow style looper for a while and this is a good opportunity.

I have one question...does the station have to be within that box, or just the track from the top view within the editor?

Just starting building and realized how small that box is.....damn

Can someone send me a template file with the boundaries marked?

The Mac editor doesn't seem to have measuring.

Edit: Nevermind I got it... I'm curious about the station thing also though.

Station doesn't have to stay within, but in Editor view, the whole track has to. This way, guests can find and board the station more easily.

April contest had ended. You cannot upload your entry anymore. I will judge as soon as possible.
