Exactly what criteria do you use in judging for the official No Limits Contest? I am also very anxious on seeing the results, does anyone know where AJ March has been the past week?

We followed a strict rubric which used a points based system, eventually the coaster with more points won.

Here is how the judging is working:

1. We are doing a POINTS BASED SYSTEM. The coasters with the most points, win.
2. All other judges need to check in with me please. (Either PM me, IM Me, Email Me, or post in this thread)
3. Judging Criteria is:

Ratings
-------
On a scale from 1-10, rate the following:

____ - Layout
____ - Track Shaping
____ - Supports
____ - Momentum
____ - Smoothness
____ - Elements used
____ - Element positioning
____ - Predictability
____ - Originality
____ - Fun
____ - Overall 1st half (if MCBR, otherwise n/a)
____ - Overall 2nd half (if MCBR, otherwise n/a)
____ - Overall 2nd half after e-stop on MCBR (if MCBR, otherwise n/a)
____ - Overall (if no MCBR, or multiple MCBRs, otherwise n/a)

____ - Total Score (up to 110 if no/multiple MCBRs, 130 with one MCBR)

Other judges, PLEASE CHECK IN!

-Kyle

when the contest is over, will you be able to see what you did in each category. Like I am sure it will be announced who gets 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but I would like to see what areas we did well in and what ones we need to improve. That way are future no limits coasters can be better. Thanks.

That sounds okay, I suppose we could PM you the results based on that form.

In the meantime I need some JUDGES! My No Limits on PC for some reason is completley broken, my Mac its not but I need to access my files at my school...which I am not at right now.

If you want to be a judge let me know. I'll organize this all, I just need some judges!

Leaves me no choice...

Me and Erik Leppen WILL Judge using the rubric according to the above. Sorry for the delay, but a few things went wrong in this contest, we'll get them sorted out and get your results in hopefully 1-2 weeks or less.

I'm in the examination period of my school, so I don't have had a lot of time. But it's almost done; from Monday January 29 I have time again, so I'll do my judging then.

Did anyone submit a track using 1.6? If so I cannot judge and I believe neither can Erik.

I made mine in 1.6, but i believe that it could still work in 1.5; the only big problem is the tunnel test might not work in 1.5.

Uhhh Ohhhh.....I just checked to see if Cougar worked with v1.55 and it doesn't work without the v.1.6 improved friction. I can't change the rollercoaster because then it would make it completely different. What should I do?

Well I'm gonna try to possibly engineer a judging system where the members can participate too......

Give me a day, I'll get back to you guys.

I made mine in 1.6 and it has the improved friction.. Although I rode it without it and there is very few difference.. So you can still rate mine even if you don't have 1.6. If it crashes for some reason, just know that it wasn't supposed to... well duh.. you probably already guessed that.

yeah, even though you can rate other people's rides I feel sort of weird doing it. It is really hard to do it for me. If you really like another persons ride, do you give it the score they deserve even knowing that you voting them a 10 could cost you the contest? Or you be unfair and try and give them a low rate, say a 7, just so you have a better chance of winning? I rather not be in that dilema, and hope everyone is fair in rating.

Will you announce one winner, or do a first, second, third, type of deal. Also what happens if no one rates your ride? Or say 30 people rate one coaster, and only 1 person rates another coaster. Like someone could lose with a 9.1 average over 30 rates, and another person get a 10, from a best friend. Just some potential issues that could arise

yeah, some people got voted for all 3 times but others got voted for only once. Shouldn't there be an equal amount of votes for everyone?

There will be a First, Second and Thrid place winner with their coaster being featured on the Speedzone homepage.

I'm trying to do my best here, and I will average the votes for all the coasters. (Using a Mean type averaging). I know things didn't work out the best way they could've, but the contest creator sort of just bailed....

Hopefully the 5+ inversions contest will be a little better.
