record breakers-the contest

this is the first contest i could think of and i thought why not post it up:

This competition is, as the name suggests, about building record breaking rides.

You must build a ride which breaks a currently existing roller coaster record, such as height, speed, number of inversions, legnth...

RULES:

The ride can be any type of rollercoaster, but must be realistic and safe

The ride must use custom supports

Custom scenery is optional

The ride may be as large or small as you like, but must break some sort of record.

all tracks must be able to be downloaded by everyone(download server or exchange)

you must write down what record your coaster is breaking

There are ten places available, and as soon as all the contestant slots are filled.

all coasters must be in by new year

PARTICIPANTS
(red=coaster in exchange, green = coaster name)
1.coaster-Dude
2.coolcoasterman
3.sfgaRllrcstrfan
4.go_me
5.j-tech-scylla
6.apsterling
7.kickyoface-tyrant
8.steven77
9.cp-soad
10.emann-saphira

judges:

1.me
2.kyle L
3.screaminkid2005

if you want a place as a judge, just ask

If this actually happens, I could possibly be a judge, but just a heads up, contests here are a little low in user participation.

I like the record breaking idea however.

Am I allowed to enter a coaster I already uploaded? Also, I don't know if my "record" is acceptable. First Intamin hyper with yellow track and blue supports!

cool but remember that inversions are when your body is upside down(in other words, on a flyer its when you look straight down)

Actually i've changed my mind, I'm going for the longest, tallest, fastest, most inversions and most vertical drops records now. It's going to be a B&M Diver and it'll be called Cerberus. Now if you know your greek myths you'll know that Cerberus was a GIANT three headed animal thing. This is a clue as to what the first drop will be like. Hope you like it. Oh and by the way, I only have NL1.5 aswell. I decided not to do the flyer as it would be too much trouble getting someone else who has 1.6 to change the trains and test+fix any problems. So anyway, hope you like it.

EDIT: When you say breaking records do you mean breaking the records for coasters overall or for like tallest flyer, longest woodie and stuff like that? If it's the latter i'll be fine

well even at 95% done your track length is not longer than mine. My ride is 9006.25 feet long, yours currently is 8300 feet long, and that would only project to 8736.8 feet if you really were 95% done. However I submitted mine first and its operating already, so mine is the current record holder. So mine is a record breaking coaster, like the contest requires. Even still, mine has a 90 degree first drop I believe so that also ties any steepest drop record, unless you consider drops that go inward a little like any of the EuroFighters. My coaster really only breaks one record, longest steel coaster in the world, the only one I went for. The others stats were just a resultant from me trying to break that record.

I'll enter a ride at some point. I have an old wooden coaster I made a long time ago that breaks some records.

I was wondering if I could join the contest. I have a B&M Hyper that is out of this world. Its name is Cougar. It has a custom made image on the front car that I did myself and it looks awesome. Here are the stats:

Height: 312 ft.
First Drop: 306 ft.
Max. vert. angle: 90°!!!
Top Speed: 93 mph
Track Length: 7078.63 ft.
Trains: 3 trains, 9 car, 4 per row=36 total passengers

It beats the records of Longest, tallest, fastest, and steepest B&M Hyper coaster

Also, I was wondering if all the supports had to be custom made. Half of the supports are custom made like on the chain, drop, and more. If this isn't acceptable, please let me know so I can edit them to be custom.

depends if the support height is giant, then it has to be custom, if its just like 3 feet of the ground you can use defaults

Can I join? Most crossovers on a roller coaster--200+. Haven't started it yet, but I will.
And is there a prize for the winner?

ah damn, it's now changed to the tallest,2nd fastest and 3rd longest woodie. Oh well, At least it's done. I'll upload it once i've added the tunnels.

EDIT: Is the judging going to be based on number of records broken or just how good the track is?

Is this acceptable? My coaster pulls 1.6 laterals quite frequently but at one point (just once and only in the back seat) it pulls 2.2 for a split second. Please don't rate me down

Oh crud, I just noticed it says you must use custom supports. How the heck am I meant to do that on a woodie?

I'm just about done with mine. i was wondering, if not enough people sign up, will there still be a contest. Also, if someone else beats your record, can you still win?

would you judge it better if we had the supports with the pipe segments, scenery, and terrain? if you dont know what i mean about the pipe segments, look at the supports on the coasters from the NL 1.6 update.
