i've only ridden one - riddlers revenge - but it was awesome. It felt much higher than 300ft. And at least it droped a few times unlike the intamin rides. The only other i rode was at ioa, which wasn't any good at all.

the problem I have is that alot of parks list these towers by the entire tower's height and not the actual drop.

case in point Cedar Point's Power Tower which is 300 feet tall, but 60 feet lay in the crown on top, the actual drops are 240 feet, but Kennywood's Pitt Fall is a 251 foot drop, not a 251 foot tower(it's around 265, not completely sure)

I've only been on 2 of those towers on the list; Drop Zone @ PKI and Supreme Scream. I think parks count the antena on top of the ride in the height too.

No, The Pitfall's structure is 251'. I'm quite sure of that. The actual descent on that tower is shorter.

The "antennaes" aren't counted. Those would include flagpoles, weather beams, etc. If those did count and were added to each ride's height, Supreme Scream would be up one number at 325' and Drop Zone Stunt Tower would exceed 325' as well.

I'm almost certain it's a 251 foot drop, not structure.

But regardless, it's drop is still as large if not larger than the Power Tower...

I've been on both many times and the Pitt Fall definetly seems like a farther drop...

The Pitfall's actual descent is approximately 228'.

And the reason why Pitfall may seem like it has a longer descent is because of Kennywood's location. As you should know, Pitfall is built on a higher grade of land and add the sloping ravine adjacent to the park and you've got yourself an illusion of being higher than you really are.

Dreamworld's Giant Drop is actually 119m of track - that's 390ft. The Tower of Terror on the side is only 377' of the 400' tower, and Giant Drop goes to 390'. That is the official height, as confirmed to me by the Head Engineer when I talked to him about the potential of Heide Park overtaking the record.

has the one at heide opened yet? And if so, what kind is it? Intamin is what i'm guessing.

If would be so cool if it was one of those like acrophobia. Titlting seats and floorless is crazy.

And is the drop zone under construction in your list. I'm pretty sure it was, but i ain't checking right now

Can only say that I have ridden one on the list, but at least it is the tallest. And Richard was spot on as allways with the real height of the GD. It is worth the ride.

There is no way the drop of PT is only 240 ft.That pyramid isn't 60 ft. tall.Either way, Power Tower's defenantly a better ride, but I enjoy Intamins better.

The Power Tower is defenantly higher then the Pitt Fall. But, unless someone takes me and measures it to exactly 240 ft. I'm not gonna believe that's the max heigth.I hate to sound so stubborn, though.

LOL

You can forget Heide Park up there. Where did you get that height from?

The Park says that it will be the tallest Gyro-Drop in the world, but you have to remember that they are worse LIARS than Six Flags (Still think they have the tallest Woodie). They say that it will be 103m (338ft) tall. But now the "cool" thing, 30m (98ft) will be a freakin' FLAGPOLE! Then subtract quite a bit for the brakes (gyro-drop!) and you'll have some winny Frefall around 200 feet. Great, huh? I HATE those cheaters!

So if it's 313' why does SFOTnet even say it's 315' when they have the News clip right there? http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/4502343.htm say's 315' all the other sites say 315' as well. Even Six Flags Over Texas' website says 315' so, who's right?
