new disney rides!

got the magasine today, expedition everset is the big new thing, if u didnt no its gonna be a roller coaster set in the mount everest mountain, its gonna go backwards and fowards apprently, sounds like a universal-disney "ride war", both the rides souns simillar as ride type goes but with diffrent scenery.
nothing much apart from that, at mgm they are cloning the car stunt show from paris and cloning california soarin in epcot which is a motion simulator/ imax ride (lukily they have kept with the california film, imagine florida soarin "wow a lake, anouther lake, a swamp, more lakes!")
something a bit more intresting in the original park, the child traumatizing montrosity alien encounter is finally being replaced with stitch the escape, this time instead of a lab with a human eating alien, this time it is a space ship with good old cudly stitch trying 2 escape (no more ""dont eat me, eat HIM" ,screams all round)
and theyre slowing down mission space, which is a shame, its an intresting ride, u kno one of them round things wen u go in and it spins and u get stuk 2 sides?, wel imagine that but your in a simulator with a screen infront of you shwoing you trip out into space (does anyone kno how many g's are pulled?)

I have no idea how many Gs are pulled, but I think you passed up that Everest ride too quickly.

That ride sounds great. A coaster through a mountain! It's like a snowy Boulder Dash!!!

This is pretty cool. Good find Kristafon. Could you please type with grammer and all that good stuff. It's very hard to read your posts. And why is this in "Other Rides & Thrills" if its going to be a roller coaster?

Mission Space only pulls around 2.5 Gs, but is sustsained for a long period of time. Its not like the type of spinning ride that youre talking about. The closest thing I can think of is like this. Take this ride: http://www.flatrides.com/Ride%20Inde...opStarTour.jpg and don't let it go upside down. Instead, you can tilt the individual cars forward, back, left and right to go with the simulation. It is a very intense ride; IMO, the most intense ride Disney has.

Is Mission Space a coaster? I'm having trouble understanding what it is.
If it is, can someone please write the stats?

Sorry about the grammar, im going to type properly for a whole post!
Yeh, Mission Space is a very fun ride, i re-rode it no less than seven times over the ten day period of my stay!
More about everest then. It starts at the bottom of the mountain where you get in, the lift hill is going to be intresting, instead of being straight it winds up around the mountain until you get to the top, like an extend jet star spiral lift.
After this nothing is certain, one drops goes all the way down the mountain at about 50 degrees, and at one part it travels backwards. What happens in the parts actualy inside the mountain are not defined, though we do know it will involve a alien encounter type encounter will the yeti aka Big Foot.
Its going to be in the Asia land of Animal Kingdom and will be a fastpass attraction.

If so, please write the stats.

No it isn't. It is a simulator experience.

Okay. Here. First, all the information Kristafon4 posted is atleast 4-5 months old. As I stated before, you should check out www.wdwmagic.com and join their forums since you seem so intrested in Walt Disney World. Second, Mission: Space is comprised of four centerfuges. Each centerfuge has 10 arms and each arm hold 4 people for a total of 40 people per centerfuge. The pods at the ends of the arms have screens in them that show you your voyage. They way it works is you don't feel like you're going around in cirlces, you feel weightlessness and positive g's, like you would when going into space. You also have buttons to push and a joy stick to play with so you "control" your space shuttle, although you will never fail your mission

you do feel weightless ness, but there is no negatives, this is because during the launch there are sustained positives casuing you to actualy get used to them, so when they are turned off you feel floaty until you get used to normal gravity again.

I remember discussing this in either the roller coaster section or the them park section. I will search for it and see what I can find.

Edit: Yea I found it. A whole discussion on the new ride and it's birth. Here it is - http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/...dition+everest

I went on Mission: Space once and I felt some lateral G's at the very begining of the rotation which made me a little dizzy for a couple seconds. Once the g's went vertical I felt better. The info on Expedition Everest is old as well. I could have my dad take pics every once in a while but I have no camera...

Thumbs up Disney

Hi i went to animal kingdom and i saw the construction of that new roller coaster, it looks so awsome. I wish that throughout disney there were more coasters and intense rides.

No, they aren't. I've had that confirmed by Cast Members, coordinators, managers, and ride and show engineering. The reason this rumor is going around is that less people are getting sick, which is ACTUALLY because they warn the people about what the ride does better.

Couple things here, it's "Stitch's Great Escape!" and it has replaced AE since November 16, 2004, when SGE! opened.

As for it being a MONSTROSITY, I'd have to respectfully disagree. AE was very different from other Disney rides because it was scary, but it still told a story with original characters; which is something you see less and less of these days from the folks who invented it.

Now SGE! is a monstrosity. I've heard it's getting better, but when I went on it (many times between October 6 to January 2) the only thing worth seeing is Stitch (an EXCELLENT AA figure) and the cannons (again, very impressive mechanics there). But otherwise it suffers from a weak story, weak execution, poor animation, and an overall identity crisis (much like AE when it first opened). I have heard that changes are being made and that it is getting better though.

The thing I don't like about Disney's new "thrill rides" is that they are really just lame. No teen is going to be excited by them, but smaller children don't enjoy them. They really need to think about either going just for thrills or to stick with well planned and themed family rides.

I'm 19 and I'm still excited by disney rides, even if I've been on them before, and if I haven't been on them then I'm even more excited. The thing about Disney is that there's some kind of magic that makes you feel like you're a kid again, and every ride is an adventure. The last two times I was there I felt like I was 8. Just at Typhoon Lagoon alone, I was giggling like a kid because I was having so much fun.

I love Disney too, but I think there attempts at thrill rides are ridiculous. I'd rather have them focus on making more attractions like Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Mickey's PhilharMagic and the like.

Disney really should leave all the parks the way they are, except MGM. If Disney would just turn this park into something that could compete with Islands of Adventure, there would be a great increase in upper teenage, lower twenties guests. A family with a teenager and a young child would want to visit magic kingdom to keep the child happy and then visit MGM to keep the teenager happy, the result would increase the sales of Park Hoppers. But then there is the strong belief that Disney should not build tall coasters that are able to see backstage areas from the top of hills. It is very important to ensure that guests never see the tunnels or break areas where you could see Goofy with his head off smoking a cigarette. That's why all roller coasters in WDW are enclosed. But everyday I go to work and see my hotel sold out; where the cheapest room is $404 a night. So I figure Disney really must know what they're doing and it's best not to question them.
