Disk O

Has anyone ridden a disk o ride? There sort of weird looking. People sit in a circle facing outwards and move from side-to-side up slight inclines. Zamperla make one and probadly others like huss i expect. Cheers

I hate it hate it hate it....

The assbars are odd.. and hurt as they push you into the front pad (its like a lapbar that comes from the back. also the ride doesnt spin to fast and is airless..

I went on i a few times.. So...I did give it a chance.. But it sucked....

The Rockin'Tug is even funner....

I've ridden the DiscO at Cypress Gardens and found the ride to be "ehh"...

The swinging feels forced, which it is, so it doesn't feel natural. It didn't wow me like I was hoping. Oh well. I guess its a cheap alternative for parks that can't afford a proper Frisbee.

I haven't ridden a Disk O, I doubt there is one in Australia. Looks like it could be fun though. Perhaps this just proves that looks can, indeed, be decieving.

I rather enjoyed it. I didn't expect a rocking rollicking crap-your-pants intense thrill ride, and I got exactly what I expected: a nice family alternative to Rockin' Tug and Frisbee.

The first one is a Disk'o. The other one is an Intamin Halfpipe.

So the Disk O goes up and down the track while rotating?

I loved this ride, it's one of my favorite flats. I got a close-up of the assbar.

Read my trip report to Cypress with 3 pictures of Disk'o

Well, I haven't ridden the Disk-O, but I DID ride the Zamperla Skater yesterday at the I-X Center. It was sorta fun but I'll take Pharaoh's Fury/Frisbee over it any day.

I rode Disk O at IAAPa '03 and '04, and it wasn't all that great. If it went higher, faster, and the Disk was bigger it could pry be awesome. A 75 foot tall Disk O would be insane, especially when you (not the vehicle) start to go over the edge.

I personally had no pre-conceived concepts of the Disk O before riding my first one at Dollywood.

I personally loved the ride. I don't know if they sped this one up or if they've changed anything since the preliminary models came out, but I personally loved it.

I personally didn't have any problems with the restraint system. Although it was weird the first time you feel that thing grab you from behind. lol

Here's some pics from Dollywood's version.

The ASS BAR!

lol The things I didnt like about the ride was it didnt seem to spin that fast... also the rocking didnt give any airtime or floatyness... I just didnt like it. But maybe the newer ones are better then the one that had on demo at IAAPA

It really didn't hurt me at all (the bar) it kind of presses for a second, but not really that tight and then it locks. I thought they were pretty comfortable.

Compared to some of the older flat ride restraints. It was like sitting on a bicylce seat, with a back seat on it.

The @$$ bars hurt me the first time I rode, I also wasn't expecting them. They just come up from behind and grab you, it's kind of scary. Once you get past that, the rides okay, nothing your going to ride again and again.

Did you ride the one at IAAPA? I'm wondering if the prototype wasn't as good as the production model.

That seems to be the case with a lot of coaster as well. Look at Hypersonic. Cool concept, but not good execution of the concept.
