Interesting.

10 minutes for one turn on that ferris wheel? WHAT?! How tall is the one at Cedar Point?!

Morey's Pier looks awesome.

Wonder why Scream is not there. It's nothing too special.

Glad Noah's Park got on there.

A nice variey. Pretty cool.

I think Dragster will be needed to be taken off there. Sorry but Kingda Ka should be in the spot now if it was updated.

I voted for Lake Compounce, but jeez, only 2% of other voters did. Boulder Dash rocks! Once again, the GP doesnt respect the wood.

Also SCREAM? Please Medusa was the first floorless atleast respect it dont go right to its clone. I think Medusa should have been on there instead of SCREAM. If they wanted a SFMM ride then go X or Superman The Escape. See I can see them in there first coaster over 100mph and first 4-D. I think a little more couldv'e been added but overall good list.

I voted for Son Of Beast I just always wanted to ride a woodie like that just because of the height speed and the LOOP. I just am hoping that if SfGadv is going to get a woodie please height and speed and if you can add a loop.

That was a pretty intresting top 10. I voted for Dragster. Kingda Ka is not open yet so i can see why it's not on there.

The last thing SFGAd needs is another crappy woodie.. having ridden SoB, while I enjoyed it, it is not something that every park needs. It is a novelty to say the least. As you ride more and more, you discover that wood wasn't meant to be large. Woodies like Raven, Legend, Cornball, Boulder Dash, Phoenix, Thunderhead, Lightning Racer, Comet, Swamp Fox, Grizzly, etc. etc. are much much better than rides twice their size.

Anyway, another crap-tastic list from AOL. I voted for Lake Compounce/Boulder Dash. Damn I could ride that thing all day... oh wait.. I already did..

Interesting list. It had a nice variety. In the blurb for son of Beast it said "Think wooden coasters are for sissies?" Is that what the GP thinks of woodies? They are for sissies?

I agree almost 100%, (minus the GCIs you listed), that novelty after novelty is good for short term, but eventually the novelty coaster will be outdone by something new. Unfortunately, the novelty coaster brings in the profit, unlike a great wood coaster, which from an advertising perspective just seems like a cliche. It's "just another wood coaster" through the eyes of the general public. But you won't see people talking about riding TTD or Son of Beast in the future, the way people today pride over riding coasters classics like Idora's Wildcat or Mr. Twister. (Sigh), fear not, Hades will save us all.

The mention of Scream was a lame choice. It's built over freaking parking lot even. The first floorless was worth of mention: Medusa @ SFGADV.

QUOTE]

According to the ride operator that was working it when I was there, it is approximately 145 feet. The one we have at six flags is 150 feet. I can only imagine what a ferris wheel taller than 200 feet would be like!

The tallest ferris wheel I have ever ridden was 120 feet.

It was pretty boring.

That poll seems kind of random, mixing a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with each other. Noah's Ark or BORG? (and it shows a pic of Stealth, lol)
