I have been on a drop ride at a carnavel just bucause it dint look that tall (100' max) and this year i may wana go on drop zone @ PCW (i was too chicken to go on last year lol) and its 210'. so is there a major differance between thet two experiances?

Well, there is more speed and really just a longer held sensation of what you felt before, it's no biggie.

Some drop rides are a lot scarier than others.. Like a 1st Generation Freefall could only be 75' tall, but it would be a lot scarier than a 200' tall gyro drop. It all depends on what part of the drop scares you. If its height, you would be better off with the 1st generation, but if it is the raw feeling of freefall that scares you, do the gyro.

I'm not entirely sure how much I agree with you on that one. First gens do have the scary aspect, but I don't know how well you can argue that a first gen is scarier than a gyro drop. The two gyro drops I've been on have been much more intense and scary than any first gen I've been on.

Anyway Pearlsea, this is irrelevant because you are talking about a second generation. I'm not going to lie, it will be condsiderably more intense and scary than a 100ft tall carnival attraction, but I don't think you'll regret doing them. You do it once, get the crap scared out of you, and then you're hooked (at least I was).

The speed of gravity doesnt change. The only rides that have more speed falling down are S&S Turbo Drops or Tower of Terror (it gets pulled down)

Anyways, if you're talking about the Drop of Fear at the CNE then Drop Zone is way easier to ride. Drop of Fear makes you feel like you're going to keep dropping into the ground, but with Drop Zone you stop sooner. Plus the drop only lasts like 2 seconds.

What's so scary about a first generation freefall? I thought that Giant Drop at GAm and Drop Zone at PKD were scarier than Stuntman's Freefall at GAdv. I didn't think Stuntman's Freefall was scary at all actually. Why would it be so scary?

Maybe because it creates a fear of your personal safety?

^Why would it creat a fear of personnal safety? I think that theother ones do more, because they have your feet hanging.

It was a joke aimed at capitalizing on the old structure.

I love the 1st generation freefalls for two reasons:
1) right before you drop you look down between your feet and see the drop
2) the fact that you end up on your back

You've got that backwards, bro. Gravity is acceleration, so the taller the ride, the higher your speed will be. This applies to the true freefall rides. The S&S towers accelerate to 55 mph and then don't accelerate any more, which is why the shorter ones feel more intense.

I want you to ride it so I am going to say that their is no difference in sensation and that they are just as much fun each time you ride it. You will have a ton of fun on it and so just hop in the seat and fasten yourself in before you change your mind.

I've been on all sorts of drop rides from first gens to S&S towers and I can honestly say that they all scare the living hell out of me, no matter what the height. This is a good thing though.

Those Chance Mega Drops are freak out. 120 feet tall . . but that isn't important really, what I'd like to know is how high up I am when the breaks come on. 30 feet maybe?

When my family was at the CNE a couple of years, my dad said he'd go on any ride w/ me if I went on the Drop of Fear w/ him. I did, and I thought I was going to pee my pants. It was so freakin' scary. I almost have a fear of drop rides now, but I'm going to ride Drop Zone a PCW this summer!
