Rides with some sort of variable to keep the exciting?!

after reading the thread of coasters losing their fun i thought of this.

I was thinking about how rides are boring because they don't change. WEll this made me think about how Tower of Terror has like 100 different possible up and down things. How cool would it be if a roller coaster did this. I find that some coasters are now more relaxing(which is still good) than Adrenaline pumping(which is better) to me.

ANyways the point of this thread was to see if anyone had any ideas on how a park could design a ride that allowed some sort of variable to keep the excitement going for rides 1 and 10 and 20 and 30.

My one idea was to do something like a 4D coaster but have different seat movements each time(i know how the track does it, but perhaps you put a motor of some sort on the train instead of it being from the track)

Not sure what everyone is talking about with the changes in ToT. I rode 5 times in Nov and it was the same thing.

I do agree though, Flats do lose the excitement more than coasters.

It would be interesting but I don't think we'll see anything big in the near future. Other than the spinning coasters that are going to be popping up, I wouldn't expect anything.

Respectfully, I must say that a truly great ride doesn't need to change. Some people just outgrow roller coasters in general. I have to wonder if those people are true coaster enthusiasts or not.

The great coasters never get old to me.

That is exactly how I feel. If I like a ride I don't want it to change but it would interesting to have a coaster with a different experience every time.

I'm not saying that there aren't coasters fine as there are cause there are 100's, i'm saying that it would be cool to have a coaster which as a part of it being a great ride it had variance in it everytime so you don't start to expect the same thing.

ps: Carowinds i know what your saying but lets pretend for what i was saying that it does change, lol.

No need to design a completely different ride... just ride a set of Flying Scooters (preferably the ones at Knoebels, Carowinds, or Kings Dominion perhaps some others). VERY exciting ride, that is different every single time.

The Flyers, I miss them. That Vekoma tilt coaster that can tilt to different tracks seems to be cool.

That;s why I love Flying Skooters, because a different ride = different thrills and `the excitement is always there. Same with stuff like go karts and other rides where you control your destiney so to say.......

What are you talking about? ToT's ride is not the same. I mean its hard to vary a ride when it only goes up and down, so the differences aren't insane or ne thing. but if you ride it back to back you'll be able to notice the difference in rides. Back when i was there over spring break, i rode it once and was droped down first. then i got on it again and instaed of droppin intially, i was shot up to the top, hung there and then droped.

OMG yes. You gotta love the ones at knoebel's. They are so awesome. Bumper cars, the same way, along with chaos rides, (spinning them is awesome. ride is always different).
