Tricking People

You know those people that are terrified of rides expecially that go upside down does anyone like tricking your friends into going on these intense upside down rides and they believe you that they dont do anything but go up and down and then when tehy are on you are like I lied it goes upside down. I did that on riptide at valley fair it was funny told my friend it just gets u a little wet and then when it gets to the top im like we are about to go upside down i was messing with ya. Rip tide is just a version of top spin if u dont know.

Riptide is a floorless topspin for all who don't know. How many times does it flip upsidedown. Did the guy cry after he got off or enjoyed it and not scared of it anymore?

It's funny you guys bring up top spins since mine also involves one. It was just last week at PKi. We were going to ride Tomb Raider and I wasn't for sure what it was but I remember hearing that it was a big top spin. I couldn't remember for sure. So my girlfriend who doesn't like the look of it at SFGAm and wouldn't ride it wanted to ride Tomb Raider. I told her what I thought it was but wasn't for certain. I didn't exactly trick her since I wasn't for sure and I did warn her that it could be the same type of ride that she doesn't want to ride at SFGAm but she wanted to ride anyway. Well we rode and discovered that in fact it was a top spin. She absolutely hated it and was sort of freaked out as well. She wasn't mad at me but rather herself since it was her idea and I had warned her but she decided to ride anyway.

I don't know about any upside down rides, but my friend tricked me into going on the Magnum. At the time I was absolutely terrified of roller coasters. Magnum was never going to be an option for me EVER. In the queue(I couldn't see the red lift) You can see the last tunnel and some red track right after it where the ride ends, which he told me was part of the Mean Streak, not the ride we are going on. I had no clue what Mean Streak was at the time. He told me that we were going on the Magnum which he described as a "kiddie coaster" and I figured that it would not be very intense. when we got in our seats I heard the man say "Welcome to the Magnum XL- 200 the Best Steel Roller Coaster in the world." (This was in the year 2000) I saw all of the people with messed up hair on the way back from their trip and thats when I figured that this is no kiddie ride.(I was behind the pillar that you pass by on the way to front seat and couldn't see the track.) I saw the red track leading up to the lift hill that seemed gigantic to a first time rider. When we popped out of the station my exact words were "You took me on the Mean Streak? I thought we were going on the Magnum?! Why did you lie to me?" And his replie was "I didn't lie, this IS Magnum." Scared the bajesus out of me on my first 4 rides and after that it became my favorite. Thats a pretty dirty trick but I thanked him after that first ride.

Oh yeah you know the best thing about rides is usually the ride operators usually will help yu trick the person cause my friend asked the operator specifically does the ride go upside down and the operator said no. Im sure this is totally illegal lieing about a ride on the operators behalf and my friend could of pressed charges if he wanted too and same thing with coasters usually operators will be like yea its a small coaster when its a big one.

yea one time my friend didn't want to ride the Chang at Six Flags in Kentucky b/c she didn't want to stand up. Well, me and her mom dont her that you sat down. Once we got to the top she was like why do those seats stand up. We told her that u stand up and it locked you into a seat once you got up the 1st hill. She believed us!! When it didn't lock at the top she was freakin out. She started to cry..i felt kinda bad then but once the ride was over she thanked us for makin her ride it. Now, it's her favoritve!!

I tricked my friend on getting Flight of Fear. I told him it was like Space Mountain with a launch. When we went through the cobra roll, he was like "Did we just go upside down?" Muhaha.

When I work at the Living Seas, I trick guests into thinking they need to give me Fastpasses. More delightful evil.

When I took my Mom to Cedar Point. She saw the place and gave a big "Oh hell NO". She works at a meat company with only guys, I told her "don't you want to go back home and tell all of those guys that this 50 something lady ain't scared of anything and that you could handle anything". It worked and she rode everything except Mantis. (I don't blame her, that ride sucks)

my stepmom is horridly afraid of heights, speed, or any thrill ride whatsoever. (she hated back to the future because of the part where you fly down into the volcano) anyway, on our trip to orlando we went to islands of adventure and universal. she would usually wait for us while we rode rides. we then walked over to jurassic park river adventure. it was really hot and buggy that day. we told her its a nice little boat tour with a small drop at the end. she saw the splash and asked if it was so small why is the splash so big. we said they shoot water out to get people wet. she believed us... heh heh. when she saw how tall and steep the lift was she knew what was coming next. she hated us so bad after that. the next day we did the same thing to her on mummys revenge. she knew it was a coaster so she sat in a bar while us 3 rode that. we told her that it was a sucky kiddy coaster with some special affects. my dad urged her on and she gave in, *more evil laughing* we got front seat and she saw the flat track zig zagging and thought this isnt so bad. the backwards part scared her but she kinda laughed, but not for long. after the uphill launch she was screaming cuss words here and there. then at the "station", she was ready to get off, then realized it wasnt over. she looked down and saw the drop and twisted her face up and screamed "WHAT THE *******!!!" that was the funniest picture ever and i now regret not buying it. she doesnt got to anymore amusement parks with us anymore... lol

Usually I'd ask a friend to get in line for a ride withme to keep me company, and then when we're in the station, waiting, I'd talk about how comfy the seat on the coaster is. They convince themselves to go on then. Otherwise they're just scared and 'm not gonna bother.

I got my cousin on Carowinds' Drop Zone by telling her it did the exact same thing as the observation tower. She ended up liking the ride, but kinda hated me for lying.

Not a trick pulled on a friend, but a ride op at Deja Vu at Six FLags Over Georgia tricked the entire train. For those who don't know Deja Vu has a horn that is honked by the op before a cycle.
Anyway, the train only had its seat belts buckled, restraints not pulled down yet. Right after all the belts were checked the op honked the horn and said "dispatch". The whole train was flipping out like it was actually going to dispatch. Meanwhile as everyone is scared I'm about to die laughing because I could see the panel and knew he wasnt going to dispatch. ad fially all at the end he said "gotch ya"

I got one of my best buds on Mamba and Boomerang. He said when we were driving up "I'll do Timberwolf, but that's it." When we got to the Boomerang area I told him we were getting in line for Zulu and he bought it. We got on the ride and he's like "Oh god how did you get me on this? (he hated it)" Next we went up to Mamba and I told him to get in line with us and get out of line at the station. We got in the car and blocked his way out. He totally hated me for like a month after that.

^ Thats good! On steel venom they said "Steel venom launching in 3, 2, 1," Then there was a bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and they said that the train was about to have a power surge and we saw all of the staff run out of the station and duck and all of us were freaking out since we were locked in and they came running back and they all just said "SIKE!" Then there like "OK time for all of you to go bye bye." Then BOOM we were off. That was realy funny.

What Ad's are you refering to Pcw? Never seen anything like that at carowinds unless your refering to someone else's post.

DZ's not even 260ft so i guess your talking to someone else.

I never tricked my friends onto any coasters... but I was blamed for neglecting to tell them that Corkscrew goes upside down. ...As if that should be hard to figure out. :P

But I guess I was misleading when I said that Magnum was like a baby Millennium Force. And it is... it's nearly 100 feet shorter. But that's not what they wanted to hear as we were climbing the lift hill. Oops.

I tricked my mom into going on Chaos (a flat at SFGadv that goes upside numerous times and has been out of service for two seasons) and I told her that it just spun around and didn't go upside down. After the ride even though she was angry that I lied to her, she wanted to ride again.

Well..I kinda didnt trick them, but I have a funny story anyway...back in May my husband and I went to BGW and took his parents with us. Now..I know better than to ask hubby to ride a coaster(he WILL NOT..ever..)but I knew my dad in law would so i asked him to ride Alpie with me. Now..I knew they'd never been on a coaster like Alpie and he talked mom in law into riding too. SO...we get up to the coaster and mom is like...o gosh, your feet dangle???? I thought she'd chicken out, but she didnt. Anyways..the ride started and the minute we hit the first corkscrew, that was it...she was praying and i DO MEAN praying ..Lord if you get me off this thing i will NEVER ride it again! So shes screaming ..OH God, Oh GOd..first break stop...Is it over she says...and before she could get that out..off we went again...Muhhahahaha... she loved it but she wont admit it! Daddy loved it too.
