visiting twistedrails.com or another site just dedicated to the park's fans could satisfy your appetite. We look on a wider scale around here I think.

I really wouldn't say they 'tore' the one at CP down...
Not to many parks still have this. I know SFGadv has one.

^ Lol, yeah your right...Seeing how one of the towers did actually collapse. I guess it took itself partially down. And I'm guessing the one at Knotts was removed after Cedar Points collapsed?

I think SFMM also has one but has different looking trains/cars. I still think regular slingshots are a lot more thrilling seeing how you are actually catapulted into the air and not pulled.

^Yea, you're right. S&S reimbursed all of the CF VertiGos after the CP one collapsed. That's why KBF got a Screaming Swing. I forget what CP got.

Not quite... they didn't get reimbursed for anything because Cedar Fair removed both at their own will when S&S offered to make modifications to prevent it from happening again. In fact, Cedar Fair tried to recoup the losses from an insurance company, and lost.

CP's ended up sitting in the employee parking lot for a while.

Have a look at the story archive... there are several stories there.

Everytime I ride a coaster, it valleys. I've never been on a stalled coaster or had one roll back (except Wicked Twister and what was Superman: Ultimate Escape, which does that by design).

No it's not. The Knott's and Cedar Point VertiGos and Six Flags Magic Mountain's Thrill Shot were S&S Absolutely Insane models. The two Cedar Fair ones were removed by the decision of upper management - while Magic Mountain had their Thrill Shot modified to the new production model specifications. The new model, called the S&S Sky Sling, was then introduced to Six Flags Great Adventure and some other parks worldwide later on.

The Sky Sling, while operating with nearly the same kind of vehicle and same ride concept setup, is not as high, not as fast, and not as intense as the previous model version that were installed at Knott's and Cedar Point's Challenge Park. The Absolutely Insane towers were 265' tall and launched riders 50 mph to a height of 300', while the current ride production model Sky Sling - have towers that are 225' tall, launching riders at 40 mph to a height of 235'.
