IOA favorites

I am just curious to know first of all how IOA rides compare to other rides of the same kind at other parks, and which rides are the true favs within the park.

My personal opinion, the Dudley Do Right ride (sorry, I'm a loser and forgot the real name) has the best drop of any log flume style ride I have EVER ridden. The ride is very fun too. I like it better than Splash Mountain, which I guess is it's closest competitor.

Bluto's Bilgerat Barges, is by far the most phenominal river rapids ride ever created. Amazing ride, and so loooooooooooong! I really like the "boat wash" one the lift. It keeps you entertained on what is usually the dull point of those rides.

The Cat in the Hat ride is just pure fun. One of the best funhouse type attractions around I'm sure.

Then the crowning glory for me, HAS to be Spiderman. Holy cow what a ride! I rode it three times in the one day I visited. I love it! Being a coaster nut, I actually did not like the coasters nearly as much as the Spiderman ride. It was just too amazing. I am ready to see more of these rides. Curse of the Darkasle sounds great, and I am really wanting to ride it. I love novel rides, and just plain fun. Let's see fewer coaster booms and more things like this for a little while. A new direction if you will. Give us something totally new at parks.

You forgot Dueling Dragons and Hulk....if you go straight to Dueling Dragons when the park opens you can get multiple rides.

The coasters there were awesome...not really much more to say

Dr. Doom wasn't anything special, but the queue line was really well themed

Do they still have the Jaws ride? Wow...that was great. My uncle, who works at the park got me to sit on the side of the boat where the shark attacks from. I also liked the Tornado simulator and Earthquake. At the time, I was scared of back to the future and jurrasic park. I don't really remember spiderman because I closed my eyes through the entire line.

Jaws is still there. I really enjoyed Tornado & Earthquake as well. Wish more rides like these were installed at parks.

The only thing i didn't ride was MIB.

My biggest dissapointment at IOA was Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw Falls, I hated it. I had heard people go on and on about it being the best flume ever. The theming sucks compared to Splash Mountain, and the drop really isn't all that exciting.

Bluto's Bilgerat Barges was pretty cool, just because it was so long. Much better than a normal river raft ride.

Jurassic Park was interesting, but not something I wanted to ride a second time.

Dueling Dragons was about what I expected. I rode Ice front row, and the castle footchopper and the dueling loop was amazing. I rode Fire in the back and it was actually pretty boring. Neither side would be very exciting without the theme though.

Hulk is absolutely amazing for the first half. I was actually ready to name it my favorite steel coaster after the first vertical loop. After that point though, the ride really loses momentum and while its still a great looping coaster, it could have been much better.

Spiderman was really cool. I wouldn't have gotten any of the story if I wasn't so familiar with all the Orlando attractions, so I would suggest understanding the story before riding. The effects are really great, and the ride is exciting.

Posiedon's Fury was a decent attraction. The water tunnel thing and the final battle are pretty cool. It takes a little too long to go through the thing though.

Cat in the Hat is really enjoyable. I definitely liked it more than Winnie the Pooh at MK, which it directly compares to.

That is really everything worth doing at IOA.

I didn't ride DD anywhere but the front, I think the ride is only ment to be ridden in the front with all the head & foot choppers and the dueling loops. You just don't get that Oh.... effect anywhere else on the ride but the rides by themselves were simply amazing.

I agree, i also enjoyed hulk until the 2nd half. I was like ok what happened.

Yes, Slpash Mountain was 100x better imo.

I also didn't see a need to ride JP again. I really didn't want to get wet but wanted to ride JP and i figured i got lucky and didn't get wet so i didn't want to chance it a 2nd time.

The back half of hulk I think is a little underrated. I like the transition with that corckscrew from the front to the back and then it goes straight down into the loop, which IMO was a good loop. They also had some crazy turn going downhill that switches directions and on that I caught some major air. Sure the back half isn't as great as the front, but it could be worse.

I dont get how DDRF wasnt exciting to Phil, that is one of my all time favorite rides, but hey its his opinion.

JP is among the best River Boat type rides (Monsoon at WoF, Tidal Wave at BGT, Perilous Plunge, etc.)

I also think that Dr Doom is different from other S&S towers becasue you get more air at the top, and the storyline to me makes it more suspenseful.

Popeye is amazing.

Deuling Dragons is quite a rush and gets me every time, in every seat. Sometimes its the ride ops fault if you get a bad ride, not evening up the cars and whatnot. This mainly will happen to you in the back or the front of a train and you dont get the full deuling effect. I like any seat on fire and the front and back on ice.

Flying Unicorn is way better than Goofey's Barnstormer.....

Spiderman is great, but i ahvent ridden DarKastle to compare it. This ride too, gets me everytime.

Cat in the Hat and One Fish, Two Fish are both fun rides. Wouldnt it suck to be colorblind and ride One Fish, Two Fish when you dont really want to get wet.

Stormforce...yeah....I guess it is as good as the Magical Teacups

JP ride in 07 is the best ride ive never been on (until 07)

I think Ripsaw Falls is ok, but I agree with the people above in saying that Splash Mountain is overall better, with it's extensive themeing, storyline, and comfortable 2-across logs.

Dudley Do Right has to be my fave flume ever...that drop at the end is unequalled.

Jurassic Park is also awesome, and I have rode it many times over the years.

Spiderman : Best ride ever. No other ride comes close.

Love the coasters, but last time I checked, this was a "rides" conference, so I will keep mum on them ;-)

The other rides.... all entertaining....but the above are the best........

That ride was amazing. It wasn't just the fact of what all was happening, but when you had a flamethrower shoot at you, heat actually surrounds you, and when you drop off the buildiong, it actually feels like you're falling.

Ripsaw is great, but I think it could've been a lot better. the theming is kinda cheap IMO.

JP is great because the other rides of it's kind have very little theming. Although I do wish we had the falling Jeep effect like USH.

Gotta love the Bluto's Boatwash! (climatic lift hill) I personally love that drop after the lift, which the last time I checked was the steepest in the world.
