Favorite Fireworks Show

What is your favorite fireworks show at a theme park? (Fantasmic and related shows are included)

I would have to say Illuminations at Epcot, with BGW's 4th of July show being a close 2nd. Illuminations just has everything, lasers, fire, great fireworks, and the best storyline on any fireworks show, plus a very good soundtrack.

I personally enjoyed FantasMic at both Disneyland and MGM-Studios. I have never witnessed Illuminations, but the soundtrack sounds amazing. I love the cohesive application of the water effects, sound and fireworks. Very good show. Plus it's Mickey, so who can beat that?

SFFT has the Texas Lone Star Spectacular, which is a really neat fireworks/laser show. They project the lasers onto the limestone rock quarry walls, adding a neat touch. They also have easy seating, as it's just a huge hill to sit on. It starts off with a hand with a hammer and a chisel. Each clink shoots off a firework shell, each time, 'chiseling' the outline of Texas in the quarry wall. They also have a portion of the show dedicated to the military, another portion dedicated to sports heros from Texas (Lance Armstrong is a favorite) and another dedicated to major cities found in Texas. *cue cheers appropriate to subject* And they have to include 'Deep in The Heart of Texas." They just have to.

In it's glory days, AstroWorld had a nightly Fireworks spectacular called Fantasy of Fire, which I believe was shown in the now dormant Show Lagoon. It had an amazing soundtrack which had definite 70s undertones. There was another nightly firework show in AstroWorld, where the shells were fired from behind the Wave Pool in Waterworld. I've never experienced either, but they must have been amazing.

Without a doubt it's Disney. They put on the best shows in the country.

I love Fantasmic at MGM...
got there right when the gates opened and sat 2nd row (could've sat first, but didn't have a desire to get too wet)

Which Disney show? They have Wishes, Fantasmic, and Illuminations.

Has anyone seen Mystify at Sea World Orlando? I dunno if I should make the effort to go see that one night this winter.

You seem to be contradicting what you said in the first post. At first you say they are the best, and then you act like they are dismal.

It's hard to decide. I was overly impressed with Illuminations & Fantasmic. Wishes was great to but the others were a bit better.

It would be so much better if Universial had their fireworks every night. They are so good, but because they are in a residential area they can only have them so many times a year.

Fantasmic owns, but Wishes is a very cool show too.. also Fantasmic is not just a fireworks show like wishes. Anyway those are the best in my opinion.

i have to say the 4th of july fireworks at cypress gardens were my favorite with magic kingdoms coming in 2nd. Im not one to get all misty at something but when they played God Bless The USA and the laser show with the fireworks idk it was a very powerful show. Cypress Gardens knows who to do it right and it got me thinking about all those who have died for our country and gave their lives to keep my free.

I've seen fireworks at PKI and the Magic Kingdom, and I honestly enjoyed the ones at PKI more because the park was basically empty, I was just getting off The Beast, and they were going off really low right over the midway.

I was a little disappointed by the fireworks show at MK a few years ago.

Nightime in DisneyWorld, no doubt.

I remember when I first heard the loud bangs from the fire works, I thought DisneyWorld was getting bombed!

Out of all the firework shows I've seen, the best one definatly is Illuminations at Epcot. Fantasmic is pretty good but I thought that is was a little corny. The fireworks at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando are good fireworks but you have to look up and around to watch it all, unlike Illuminations in which everything takes place on the World Showcase Lagoon and if you get there early enough, you can have a great view from right up at the fence.
