Simpson: the ride

Just saw on my local news channel, Bay News 9, that Universal Studios Orlando is getting a Simpsons ride which will take you through their house...I guess this is what is replacing Back to the Future...Spring of '08 is when it is supposed to open.

Cool I never really liked Back to the Future (or any motion simulator) all that well anyway. I can wait to see the actual details of the ride.

That is going to go in the same building BTTF was in? That building is like 60 feet tall. I'm guessing it will be a 4D theatre kind of thing perhaps? Certainly not a dark ride like Cat in the Hat.
here is a link to the story mentioned above.

Thanks Zingo, I forgot to put the link on it...Yes, in the clip they showed the said something about it being launched into the house, so I guess it might be some type of people mover ride.

This really disappoints me. It's not that this ride sounds dumb, but to replace Back to the Future with it? Rediculous. But my curosity will make me ride it when it opens.

I hate the BTTF ride. It really makes me sick. I like simulators. I rode Mission:Space this weekend. I loved it.

From what I understand, the new ride will just be BTTF refurbished. So, those of you who hate the BTTF simulator will probably hate this too.

I'll miss BTTF. One of the coolest rides ever.

It would be great if the vehicle was the Canyonaro. They could have it smell like steak while you're sitting in it. Plus, since it's endorsed by Krusty, it would be perfect to go through his theme park.

Was wondering has anyone here ridden both of the BTTF rides at both parks. Are they different ride experiences.
Just wondering if this will be a similar situation where the Florida park got the better Return of the Mummy rides.

Was wondering if they are going to be cloned rides of each other as I have read they are just going to modify the existing rides.

Now does that mean upgrade mechanical stuff for a better experience or just a bunch of effects and themeing changes to fit the simpsons..
