| Mt. Olympus 2007
I'm surprised that there has been virtually no mention of this park this year. Just two years ago, they debuted Hades and it was one of the most talked about parks/rides that year. And now the park almost seems ignored. Anyways, this year they're opening a big new wave pool named Poseidon's Rage. They also will have a new Screaming Swing ride "Apollo's Swing". It will stand 100 feet tall and swing at speeds up to 75mph. I was curious what people thought about the new additions. Personally, I'm a little disappointed by Apollo's Swing. It only carries four people at a time and I figured then it would probably be an upcharge attraction. I'm not surprisd they went that route since it could probably bring in a lot of money in the tourist friendly Wisconsin Dells where many attractions are expensive or the upcharge type attractions. What disappointed me was the fact that te one area that Mt. Olympu is hurting I is flat rides. They have almost none and this would've been a great ride to add to the park if it had been a bigger capacity model. I'd like to see them add some more flats, hopefully soon. Any thoughts on the new attractions and the park in general?

I love Mount Olympus. We are going to WI Friday, but not to the Dells. I've been talking to my parents about going for Hades and they think it's a good idea. I haven't been there in YEARS. Plus, I've never rode a hybrid (Steel supports, wooden track) coaster. I've rode the exact opposite, Steel track wood supports. Anyways, I also hope they get flats. They really need those. Plus mabey one steel coaster. -IMC-

I don't see where you got an S&S swing from. Also a 4 person swing going 100 feet up at 75 MPH? I don't know about that. Can you post a link to confirm that?

Hades is one of the best roller coasters I have ever been on, but it's too bad that it's at THE WORST AMUSEMENT PARK I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I was lucky enough to attend the media day for Hades back in 05' and instantly fell in love with it, but that's also when all of my anger and frustration began to grow. I have been back at the park a few times since the media day and have found no improvement in their customer service and overall safety. I could tell stories for hours about my times there, but i'll spare you all. I last rode Hades back in July of last year and it seemed a lot rougher than it ever was....and from what I've heard so far this year, it has gotten worse. I now lack the desire i once had to go there. It's an awful shame!

| Quote: K bud? Looty, I feel the same way about the park. Though I see they are trying somewhat to get the park in good shape. Hades is getting rough because of the PTCs just tearing up the track because with the steel supports the ride cannot bend as much as it wants to, to shift the load out of the track itself. Mt O Maintenance needs to do a lot of improvements to get the ride back to the glory it once was.

Just trying to keep it friendly. I think Hades is awesome, but I think they're missing a good steel roller coaster (B+M mega?), a drop tower, and a couple of flats.

^^How about a press release? http://www.mtolympusthemepark.com/press/img/march07.pdf There's this strange thing called "Google"... I agree with everything Looty said, word for word. The only good things about Mt. O are the three big woodies.
