Waldameer's Ravine Flyer II (2008)

Well as we know how, Waldameer has finally began work on the much anticipated Ravine Flyer II which has been rumored for several year's now. I'm actually surprised no one has posted a thread regarding this coaster yet, but work has began on this coaster which is definitely going to be a great coaster. The latest pictures I could find show that the park has already began parts of one of the six tunnels that will be featured on the ride. On top of that, wooden pieces have already been erected as well. If you're interested, check out all the stuff I found regarding this coaster so far.

http://rayp.smugmug.com/photos/154486845-L.jpg - construction sign.

Here's a pretty good No Limits recreation that gives you a good idea what this coaster will be like.

One things for sure, I will definitely make my best effort of trying to get to this park on opening day to test out Gravity Group's newest creation.

This loooks like it will be another great GG installation. I can't wait to hear the reviews of it. The arched bridge support structure is awesome.

^lol. That's all you wanna know eh? That looks pretty sick, and I am definitly going to be there for it's opening season. I've been looking forward to this coaster for a couple years now. I had no idea GG was doing it. Kudos to Waldameer for going with a company who is not afraid to push it to the limit and already has a reputation for amazing coasters.

After reading on Screamscape over they years about the fight to get this thing going up I feel very fortunate we can now talk about this construction here on TN.

That's a really cool first drop into a bridge structure. It'll have its own catch just like Hades does under the parking lot.

/\ Really? Cuz the terrain part is pretty much all of it. At least the last half. It's like saying any coaster looks bad if you take away the good parts.

You mis-understood me.
I was meaning the entire layout doesnt look spectacular really. The Terrain adds a little bit more excitement to it (in an asthetic way). In other words plop the coaster in a flat fiel and it doesnt seem all that great. I was meaning without certain elements to the ride itself. Basically the layout is kinda boring on its on. Thats all I was trying to say.

I don't understand how this coaster's layout is any less 'boring' than coasters like Voyage, Hades, etc. From the looks of it, it is a very fast paced coaster with lots of unique elements. Gravity Group has made some pretty impressive wooden coasters over the past 2 years so I don't think this one will be any different. It's something new and exciting for the park and the general public is going to eat it up.

It's a pinch me moment as I've now seen in pics steel structure of a drop now in the process of being built. Nice.

I'm sorry if someone has already stated this, but is this going to a current park, or is it just a random coaster kind of?

What? Waldameer Park. I believe that's what the small place is.

With this unique ride with the bridge, Flying Turns, Hershey should serve something weird with its Perfect 10 that in 2008 it'll be the year of the Unusuals debuting in Pennsylvania. It's got a great theme to fit Pennsy.

It's actually starting to look really cool. It seems like the track with always be moving, never in a straight line.

Still looks awesome. On that page, it says "Coming Soom - Photos of 90 degree 60 foot drop". That must be a typo, right?

Maybe they mean 90 degree turns and the 60 foot drop

I think it is just a short sentence. They are saying look for a photo of a 60 foot drop with a 90 degree bank. If you look at the graphic of the whole ride look to the right of the lift hill area. See the section of track that will be 90 degress and then it drops toward you down the 60 drop of the ravin.

The graphic was making out a land change there. So a 90 degree turn then a large dive into the ravine you say in the 2nd half of the ride.

It's looking evil. Check out the huge hole for the bridge footer.
