It looks fun, but
Why is the layout so simple
Why not go with 4 abrest trains

Because they are open air trains.

"Intensifying the action packed adventure, the ride will feature prototype open-air seating that will allow all riders to experience an unobstructed view of all the thrills and excitement on one of North America's best coasters."

This ride looks awesome, but the name sounds so Six Flags-ish. It's like the only point of the coaster was to beat out Goliath at LaRonde. Either way, this ride is going to completely dwarf everything at Wonderland, nothing in the area of the ride comes even close to that height.

The new trains look kinda weird too, but I'm sure they'll ride pretty nice. Especially the back rows, which will probably feel like you're floating outside the car.

Yeah, unobstructed if you're in the front two rows...

Merging this with the existing thread, and putting it in the proper forum.

Everytime I ride a coaster, it valleys. I've never been on a stalled coaster or had one roll back (except Wicked Twister and what was Superman: Ultimate Escape, which does that by design).

I always associate B&M with a 4 abreast train but this one is very Vekoma SuperBoomerang looking. I'm not sure if I like it but Canada Wonderland may be a smaller market to try this kind of small train. It's basically like an Intamin or Morgan in capacity. We'll see how these little bars pop up on the train.

85 degrees? That's a big B&M improvement. I like the idea of the dancing into a helix in the 2nd half but I might like the extra hills in NITRO's second half more. Just like with the 2 new Goliaths I didn't like how the main lift supports meet up at their junction, though it keeps the supports at a less wide stance.

The two new B&M's so far: Led Zeppelin and this both employ their turnaround elements immediately, which is a welcoming feature because B&M's have started to become so predictable in typical layout, where we'd see a turnaround or cobra roll in the middle of the layout.

No complaints about the name. It is what it is. I'll practice saying it. The real realization is it puts Canada Wonderland on the map and this is a Cedar Fair project B&M Hyper wise - that's new for once so we think.

The Press Release states that it took 17 months to plan the ride therefore Paramount still owned the Park. CF had a construction commitment on the ride and probably had the rights for the name when Paramount filed it with the patent office a while ago. So CF know matter what, was building that ride. But hey it looks great and fun and you have to like the new trains.

Canada's Wonderland beat Cedar Point in attendance for the past 2 years.

Ahhh, I stayed up till 6 AM, yet couldn't pull that extra hour!

Anyway, when I go to CW, I'm not going to be in a rush to ride this. It looks like Nitro with the helix moved farther to the end, with extra hills. In 6-7 years, you think B&M would come up with something new..

Aww.. 2 across seating too?!!? I'm not going to be waiting hours to ride that, especially when I'm not totally in love with Nitro like most people. I'll ride Apollo's Chariot when I go to BGE though.

^All B&M hypers have 32 people per train with 3 trains.

And nevermind, 85 degree drop?!?! I'm waiting for it. About 50 more weeks, lol. The speed must be insane.

Wait, "Fiberglass and steel coaches with lapbar restraints and interlocking seat belts," seat belts? I didn't see anyone get flown into a lake on Nitro! I demand a discount.

I don't like the new trains. I wonder why they made the switch.

I think the new coaster, and the trains, look just jaffy. I can't wait to ride it.

As for the remark above about CW being in a small market..... need I remind you that CW is the MOST attended seasonal theme park in North America? And, an immediate market of 6,000,000 people (greater Toronto area) is NOT small.

I know this may be too early but I just thought I'd bring it up anyways.

What do you think the new addition will be in 2009?

-Redevelopment of Splash Works????

2010- A new flat ride??

2011- ?? Please tear down Dragon Fyre and install another coaster

^Instead of double posting just edit your first post. I actually like the new look of the trains, look forward to get on it, when I don't know.

Another thing; three trim brakes in a row?!

^^ I know I noticed a lot of trims too in the POV. I really like the name, but the layout could use a couple more airtime hills near the end. I'm just mad because no one will be able to draft this coaster in the draft next year.

I'm definitely going to try and make it up there next year. With this,HRP,BGA's new Congo, and Hersheypark's new coaster, 2008 is already turning out great already.

I'm surprised they put trim brakes in the video. They probably won't do that much like Apollo's. I bet the front two seats in the middle of the car will feel like you are gliding since they are far away from any wheel vibrations.

I was wondering... how does CW have $26 million to spend? They don't exactly look like a super-park... But anyway that doesn't matter lol.

The park has moved to the top of my 2008 list behind SFGADV and CP.

Stated many times before, Canada's Wonderland is just about always in the top 3 for most visited seasonal parks. It's been number 1 quite a few times, beating out both CP and PKI. It may not look like a "super-park" but they have the attendance and the money.

Gotta love the construction diary

Considering the Canadian and US dollar exchange rate is almost at even ground totally refutes your statement.

I'm sorry, but I'm really disappointed in the enthusiasts who decided to hack the site. Where is your sense of integrity? It is so much more fun to find out when they want you to. And if you decide that you should get some sort of special treatment, you ruin it for the people who didin't want to know (like me). It was exactly the same with Maverick last year and with Deathly Hallows this July. What happened to patience in this world?

But.....if they started working on this a year and a half ago, I'm sure some funds were exchanged back then and the exchange rate was quite different back then!

It wasn't such a drastic difference and I'm sure everything is in USD funds anyways. That's how it always works.

It's pretty hard not to look when it's posted everywhere there's construction information.

Well really, if you sensed it was something you didn't want to see why didn't you x out of your browser; shut off the screen? Seriously if you didn't want to here about it why didn't you just wait at the CW's website to see. Obviously if you continued to read on, you were impatient too.

LOL! It shows them we're excited. They made a very good choice for such a large investment. Personally, it fits exactly what I like in a coaster, tall, fast, long, steep, expensive, airtime & twister sections, 3 trains, a B&M (lol), etc.

I'm glad 2008 will bring a very large coaster, seeing as how 2007 was very disappointing (to me).
