I already feel I've had the blue and orange of rollercoaster tracks beaten out of me already. This one brings me to that conclusion. Now I won't be surprised if Dominator @ KD would be same, as much as I don't want it that color.

Hershey officially announced they were the ones behind Nantimi. That was a great idea on their part, I wonder if other parks will follow in the future.

Hershey was probably the closest to getting any one of us a ball coaster. This is more realistic. When are they going to announce as well that these 3 car trains are just a joke as well?

The ride is set to open for May 24.. I'll be trying to get a few rides on it in August.

I'm definitely going to have to make it over to Hershey next season. I haven't gone since Storm Runner's opening day.

This is what Fahrenheit's non-flying pretzel loop looking inversion looks like in real life.

Bingo. It's the launcher in the Norwegian area. It's probably a TPR trip report pic. This particular model got my interest. We have to be happy it'll be more extensive than that model.

Yeah...so the approx ride time according to the HP website is 85 seconds (1 minute 25 seconds), so that to get the theoretical 850 pph it's advertising it would need 71 trains per hour, which would have to depart about once every 51 seconds, so...anyone else care to finish my calculations? I'm too lazy

Not sure what you mean by finishing the calculations but I don't see how they can meet the already low stated capacity. Maybe it's possible if the ride cycle takes approximately a minute and a half, that they could pull into the station, unload and then load the train for the next ride.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to stand there for an hour and count the trains that go up the lift in one hour and see if it's 71.

I guess it depends on how the station is set up. I hope they have some kind of station set up that holds two trains at a time. Whether it be like Mavericks', or have it have an unloading area and then a loading area. That way when one train leaves the station, another is right behind it ready to be loaded.

I was under the impression that Hershey only takes the lift/on track time as part of the ride time, not any taxi-ing from a unloading station to loading station, if two separate stations were to exist.
Best example is Comet...one large station, but in the old days, one unloading position, one loading position. Took time in between...but it didn't count towards the ride time.

That what I am saying. They could have a station set up like Mavericks', but instead of having two loading areas, they could have one loading and one unloading.

I don't really know if this matters, but RCDB calls that "inverted loop" inversion a Norwegian Loop.

Yeah, I don't think you're right there. That coaster's not even made by Intamin. Now the picture that coasterman1234 links to is an Intamin made coaster. That is what its going to look like (the loop, that is). Plus, the ride does go upside down.

This ride is much more Wild Mouse-esque...which was (at one time) a rumor of a coaster they might put in.

It's like Hersheypark was really bummed about the Turbulence coaster issue and Intamin asked Hershey to pull up a beanbag chair to spill their story to get it out. This new coaster seems inspired partially by the former Turbulence design and ordeal.

I always wanted to do an inversion that crossed between another like this corkscrew that goes through the Norwegian loop. This coaster is just shorter Great Bear. I guess it will have a Georgia Scorcher compactness but will end up being cooler. I'm waiting for but not necessarily more excited for the Intamin cobra roll, since I'm quite used to and satisfied with a B&M one.

What I said was exaggerated, you are right. Still I don't think the inversion will be too great, it is more of a Diving Loop followed immediately by an Immelman. The norwegian loop will be cool if you get airtime for sure.

The ride will be fine. Never judge a ride form one element, and dont't judge elements without taking into consideration the rest of the ride.

Today, a 235 foot drop is kinda meh.

Until you mentions that it pulls 3.8 Gs at the bottom, has a pants-wetting headchopper with a woodie, and screams down the side of a mountain at 85 mph.

Anyway, any track or other fun stuff yet?

Ok hold the phone. I'm a bit behind on the Hershey trivia. What was Turbulence, and what was the issue that occurred?

Turbulence was a S&S Screaming Squirrel/Intamin Ball coaster style prototype by some unknown coaster company that was supposed to go on the site of the GIANT Wheel, two armed ferris wheel. The ride was canceled because the company went bust I believe. They could not deliver.

I read that the company (whoever they were) raised the cost of the ride, after already signing a contract with Hershey. Hershey tried to sue for breach of contract, but lost and the ride was canceled.

Don't forget to come back and post when there's real progress to report on this coaster besides having played this promotional sleuth game on here.

The company that was going to build the Frequent Faller coaster was Interactive Rides. The company didn't go bust, coasterman had it right. The price of the ride went up, due to the increase in price of steel, and Hershey said no.

Apparantly, according to screamscape @ IAPPA, they are hoping to have one open in the US within the next couple years.

Not that this has anything to do with the construction or anything but I heard that Hershey is moving most of their plants to Mexico because of cheaper labor costs. They are taking over 1,500 jobs to save 170 million a year. I received this in an email and looked it up, It's true.

Globalization, globalization. They could join VW, RCA, etc... down there in Mexico. I think LEGO is moving jobs from Denmark there even.

Supports are going up. Track is sitting in the parking lot just north of the soccer stadium.

Any photo updates around the web? I checked HP site but no construction pics. I have not visited Hersheys site in a long time. When did they get the new logo? Looks nice.

I found this on another forum: http://www.coasterdom.com/2008/01/18/fahrenheit-construction-118

Also, they changed the logo before last season (for the 100th year). I guess it stinks for them that the old logo is on the farris wheel, lol.

I'll be heading to Hershey Friday, maybe I'll be able to get some picks.
