Six Flags Fiesta Texas 2008

I won't mention the name Goliath in the SFFT construction thread name. Maybe it will still change? When I looked at B:TR @ SFGADV the other day I shook my head at the thought of the name. I saw pics of the track and supports in the new blue and yellow color. Doesn't Great White have a similar blue?

Here's hoping they change the name (or keep the same name rather) to Batman, The Ride. The Great White does have navy blue supports like the original Batman, The Ride's.

As much as I'd also love to see the name changed, it's not going to happen.

Isn't Great White like a really light blue/green and white?

Just curious.

The thing with the name "Goliath" is not only the fact that it's overused within the SF chain, it doesn't even describe this particular ride! Especially when they have SMKC, which is more of a "goliath" than a B&M invert. Why don't they try something totally different, instead of Goliath or Batman? They don't need to pretend that all of their parks have the same rides.

The trains are white, but the supports and the track are kind of blue.

How about Leviathan? Then they can one-up the name Behemoth

Boomerang got painted though I thought it didn't look like it needed to be painted. It's one of the best looking and running Boomerangs in the chain I've been on. Looks like the parts are still in the maintenance area for Goliath.

Goliath's construction has been moving along at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

There is a thread at SFH that has continuous (kinda) updates of the construction. The loop has been erected, as has the apex of the ride. I'm not so sure about those colors... but we'lll see...

Maybe they need to pull an old name out of the hat with those colors: Shockwave. I guess they'll paint more of it as they go along. With the intensity "Can you stand it?"

It makes you wonder what side should have the main view. The parking lot will have the view of the front of the coaster while in the park people will be walking to the back of it. It does remind me of Batman The Escape/Shockwave or Le Cobra in that manner.

WOW. Another Goliath and it's not even like any of the other Goliath's It's Batman with new colors and a new name. I think Six Flags & Cedar Fair get their name ideas from the same company.

It's our favorite first B&M that has moved. It moved from Japan to SFNO. Now SF picked it up from NOLA and sent it to Fiesta Texas. It's the mirrored version.

The coaster would give the same kind of lousy view Batman the Escape would give to guests. The optimal view of the coaster is from the parking lot not walking by that theatre inside the park towards the ride. I think the ride should be called Shockwave or is it blue/yellow enough to be a really old school early Batman ride?

She's almost done. It is very close in track color to the one down the street. It's a little too close.

LOL. Superman's telling Goliath how he owns it as least until they change the ride name to more fitting name. It's another one of those coasters that get real close to the parking lot lights, just like Superman Ultimate Flight and Kingda Ka at SFGDV. I think this coaster and Dominator will be best photographed from their park's parking lots.

^ Dominator? You probably mean Superman: Krypton Coaster. Goliath is the only coaster that close to the parking lot. Most, if not all, of the other coasters are behind a 'buffer', if you may, of land and other attractions.

SKC is only visible because it towers so high above the ground and stands out in the quarry. I'm excited though, it will make for a new interesting SFFT skyline...

I was thinking outside of the SFFT world. I think Dominator will have the same kind of situation photo wise at KD. The cobra roll would probably be best viewed out in the parking lot, not the interior queue line. That Dominator was so tailored to GL and smack in your face in Power City.

I hope the queue is still on the end of the invert that would be photo friendly.

If you go to the "official" Six Flags chronological coverage of the ride's construction, you'll see a different perspective.

They have got some pretty interesting pictures with some creative captions.

At least there's no BS about the gray paint on the supports still in the captions. The name Goliath is still thrown around handily like it's going to stick.

This coaster might open April 18th. At least this is cooler than the SFM Batman the Ride.

Great White is one of the best Batman clones I've been on. Who is going to be the first person to do one, run across town to compare the two? Why didn't they call it Deja Vu? LOL It would make sense in San Antonio and ballsy to poke fun at one self.

Oh my god! I was all excited bout this coaster! Until I found out it is a Batman clone! Weak! Cant Six Flags do anything original! Not worth anything to me other than a credit. I HATE Batman The Ride! Weakest version of an inverted I've ever been on. And I've been on 4! (Batmans that is) I don't care thats it's mirrored Left drop, Right drop, no-one cares! The ride still sucks. Unless your too ignorant to know better. Or you're still in 1994.

Does Texas now hold the record for most Batman clones?
