Darien Lake - 2008 - Moto-Bike coaster

Story was posted in the Batavia News, but that paper doesn't post it's articles online.

-Darien Lake gotten approval from the planning board to get there construction permits for a Motocoaster made by Zamperia.-

I still dont get why parks want bike coasters... Having been on two vekomas myself I can say it adds nothing to the ride.. If anything the uncomfortable-ness of it takes away from the ride....

This came out of no where. I wonder what's up with the Batman The Escape pieces. If the seating is similar to a Disko it is a weird arrangement and feels like one step closer to flipping off the thing. I feel like I could be heaved off it.

I dont know whats up with Batman. When I was at DL last fall it was still just sitting across the street from Superman.

And yeah the lapbar on the Vekoma bikes is kinda like the Disko ones.. but laying down more.

Supposedly it is being installed in Darien Square where the old swimming pools are. If so whats going on with the Batman building.

Whether or not Motorbike coasters are that good, at least it's a new ride and something unique for Darien Lake.

I'm not sure if B:TE will ever be built, but DL desperately needs a new coaster - especially a family coaster, as they don't have any. This will mean more guests coming to the park, so hopefully a major (B&M) ride can be built in the future. Besides, they do have the land for it - they just have to shuffle around the Camp Grounds, and rip up some of the paths between Predator and the Laser Light Show - as they are useless - which will be able to free up space for another few rides.

Disney2Gardens, the Motocoaster prototype is 62'x159' - and the Batman Building is about 75'x150' - although width wise, it would fit Motocoaster, it is slightly too small in length wise. So I assume that the Motocoaster will go by the pools. (Although many people on wnycoasters thought a drop tower would go there, this is still good.) So the Batman building would not be used for Motocoaster. (It doesn't have an official name yet, so I'm calling it Motocoaster.) Hopefully, the Batman Building will still contain a show, as the park needs one for a more complete experience.

The La Cirque show last year was awesome, hopefully they will keep it. The coaster is a good choice as it is unique to the area.

It's a first launcher for them, so it's cool they take on the launcher and family concept in the same breath. It sounds like a so/so experience from James.

Oh wait a minute, a Zamperla rather than a Vekoma. Not the Vekoma layout and probably not the layout for the new Zamperla coaster at Knotts Berry Farm either. I have something to look forward to; a new layout unveiling.

Well, I'm going to cooperstown this summer for my brothers baseball, And there was a slight possibilty of going to a park on the way there or back. My two choices were add a 1/2 hour to our drive and go to DP, or add no drive time and go to DL. I was leaning towards DP, but this might change my decision.

^^ It is the prototype that was unveiled at Zamperla's HQ last year. So, unless you haven't seen the video on TPR, it is not a new layout.

It's still a relatively new layout variant. It's not the hill and helix we've seen a couple times on the Vekoma bikes.

It's good to see people on it now. I'm glad the new management moved ahead and added their own new rides. We're in the post Six Flags era. The Orange County Choppers Motocoaster I believe the ride is now known as. I like the track color and like Laser at Dorney Park, it sits on pieces of wood.

Screamscape has a link to a kid's Facebook page with those pics. The track is a lavender like color. The supports are still yellow and white.
