Intamin's are all very unique for the most part. Maverick, Farenheit,MF, and TTD are all completely different. B&M's aren't as different but are always great.

Anyway this coaster blows my mind. At first I thought it was a launch and now I find that it is a vetical lift. It has some different elaments that know one has even heard of, and a interesting layout. It looks like a fun coaster, im just hoping that the capacity is their when they need it.

^Ya, but even B&M's that are not the same model are very similar. Like Raptor and Kumba. Twisting drop, a few inversions, brake run, a corkscrew or two, and then a helix up into the station.

Work in a small way has begun on the Rip Rockit. I was out at the park today for a TV shoot and the Simpsons grand opening.
There are a bunch of marker flags out in the front area of the Blue Man group building and some machinery has started to tear things up near the front area. I have heard that the ride will be done in sections so looks like the front section is first. A few more photos are here http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/new2009rr.html

I just read about this coaster for the first time today. I guess it kept slipping through the cracks for me.

It looks amazing and i'm very impressed with everything that is going on this coaster. I only have one question. Will Jimmy Neutron be removed for this coaster?

As far as I know nothing is gettting removed.

The ride runs along the back of all the buildings down the left side of the park and along the back a little bit back where the fake skyline is.

Wow, this is going to be a small compact coaster. I guess they won't be useing those buildings for HHN anymore unless they can still make a que line for them under the track.

Small and compact? The ride's 167 feet tall and over 3,500 feet in length... which makes it a lot larger than most rides in the country.

I had no idea it was that large. I just found out about this coaster about 3 hours ago. I have been out of the loop on my cruise.

I cant wait to see the loop thats not a loop. Its going to be interesting to see and ride it when done. I hope that they are able to make it a smooth transsision in the loop. Should be like two zero G rolls on there sides. I wonder how much its going to look like a loop and how sever the transision is into the top of the none loop and back down. I am referring to the loop that will be like a loop but you will spin on the way up to be ontop of the loop and then spin on the way back down. Its going to be interesting.

Whatever it is it sounds like it is probably going to provide a lot of airtime

I am looking forward to the Non-inverting Loop also. It reminds me of a messed up Top Hat. Coming off the first drop into it should be pretty wild. If it isn't too rough it will be awesome. The vertical lift not as thrilled about. I just hope it climbs fast.

I made that element 5 years ago. I bet they stole it :P

Are there going to be any special effects on the ride?

^ I heard there will be concert type lighting effects on the ride and state of the art LED lights on the cars. Probably will look pretty cool at night.

The reports i have read on Formule X (another X car), is that it is really smooth. If i am correct it is one of the more recent Mauer Sohne coasters. They do look to be taking a pretty major leap with this one though. If they pull it off I think it will rival any Orlando coaster. I just hope it has some of that killer air time other Mauer Sohnes have.

It doesn't look that compact unless you're referring to the width rather than the length. It spans over a good portion of the South/Southeast side of the park.

The ride is not really that compact, it just looks like it.. I think people will be surprised with how large that the coaster actually is..

Construction work is in the first stages of work, dirt clearing and ground leveling is taking place.. This coaster will not take that long to build once the land is ready..
I hope to stop by Universal in 2 weeks on my next trip out to Sea World for some photos of Manta and get some more photos of the Rip Ride Rockit... Sceamscape has a link to some recent construction photos showing demolishion and land prep getting done.. More soon..

Horror nights has come up a couple times: I have heard a soundstage will be used for the SS house lines. No way they can do HHN without those SS, no worries.

I hope you will be able to turn the music off, as I plan to ride many times. I am pretty sure we will have limited choices and I would rather not hear the same songs over and over again.

Hey Johnny, have you heard any info on the Hollywood Bowl? I love Mardi Gras but dont love the current venue for the concerts. It would be a great addition.

Dont know, I dont keep up much on all the activities at Universal.. If you would like an answer to your question.. Try asking Rus at www.Orlandorocks.com I am pretty sure he may have an inside scoop... Plus he will be following the Rip Rid Rockit construction alot as he is at the park often....

IAOCentral.com has some new photos of the construction.. Looks like a bunch of new signs have gone up on the construction walls.. IOACentral.com › The Adventure Lives Online!
Seems the song selections will range various music.

I like that. Now maybe the rider can choose what type of music or maybe even what song they would like to hear while riding instead of being forced to listen to the same horrible song ever ride.

Thanks. I never knew those pictures weer on rcdb.

I like the layout. It looks a heck of alot bigger than i assumed. This coaster should be alot of fun and this might just be my first vertical lift coaster. Just wish the drop was steeper as well but it looks awesome.

I think the drop after the first set of brakes may be steeper than the first drop. Either way I think all the drops look pretty steep, especially the "Loop." Also, on the treble clef someone mentioned it being some kind of vertical dive, but from the new layout pictures it doesn't really look anywhere near vertical. Then again, that could just be a somewhat deceiving or poor rendering.

I think the rendering is accurate. Kings island calls the drops on Diamond back vertical drops as well and clearly they are not completely vertical.
Rockit is going to be completely sick though, and give us much needed coaster variety.
I didnt think there would be any inversions on this ride but the description says negative G Camelback (the Jump Cut), so at least one I guess. I think I would rather see one of those killer Maurer Sohne airtime hills but really not complaining at all. The courus section looks to have a nice Double Down.

A negative G camelback is just like any camelback, you get negative g's which equals airtime. If it had a zero-g-roll that'd kick ass, that's probably my favorite coaster element.

Yeah I didn't post that correctly, The description says spiraling negative G camelback. For anyone who has been on a vertical lift, could you tell me if there is any pressure put on your chest. I am a little concerned about my own re rideablility because of the vert lift. Ride on.

I think the pressure would be on your back, basically like you're laying down. I don't really even think this ride will use OTSR's, or at least I hope it doesn't since it doesn't seem necessary.
