Yeah, i couldn't agree more. I didn't see much potential, but it looks like this ride could just be a lot of fun. I also like the non-inverted loop, the second drop (the one right after the 1st brake run) and the (what is that 400 degree?) helix through the building right after.

Thanks for that link to the helicopter shot Johnny! It really puts the size of this thing into perspective.

I read that. It could be a joke but it's not the first time we saw alterations.

Word on the street is that this is the lemon of 2009.

I really wanted to give Maurer Sohne a chance, but man, it really is a bummer when some of these smaller companies can't pull through.

I mean, a lift hill? Why would you say you can sell something if you clearly can't deliver it? And they already re-designed a support, something you rarely see other companies do with their rides (B&M).
I hope it the best, maybe it'll open before July?

Weren't we all right in wishing first for the B&M Hollywood Dream coaster they got in Japan?

I was thinking of the sheer size of the lifthill support footer patch if they screwed up that badly, how deep it is. I wonder structurally if it could reengineered with supports and track. A hard one to get around is clearance from the station to the lift and radius of track going to pure vertical. If it's really true could it be done by the time I plan to go in October or will it delay til next year to open with Harry Pothead Land?

Last I heard the station was nearing completion but the lifthill still was no where to be seen.

There have been a couple of bad spots that needed fixing.. Anyway, there is some speculation around the internet that there are problems with construction.. My guess is simply all the track has not arrived yet. From the road it looks like not all the track is there which is why the lift was not completed. They are currently working the remaining 5 or so pieces of track that connect the end of the ride to the station. There is still alot of work happening with the station house and stuff like brake runs, exit stairs. Anyway some new photos are here... Johnnyupsidedown.com Rockit Photos

There's a weird rumor of recycling Maverick's unused roll, the fail roll (for too many G's during testing), for the lift hill.

If it really is something with the lift hill, it might not have been their fault. It could have easily (and more likely) been the construction company screwing up. Don't blame the company until you know for sure.

Leo, can you elaborate on that rumor? I just cant see that being true in any way since it's two different companies and two different track types.

Say, I could have sworn I read that the track was going to ride over the water on the city walk pond. From the photos I've seen, it does'nt look like thats going to happen.
Anyone else remember this?

Maurer Sohne has built more complicated lift hills then this. The problem is likely from construction or a problem that came out of shipping.

Just a rumor on the twist up the lift hill. No real proof. It's probably a joke another site is playing.

On the lift hill, if it's really screwed up it could be the contractor that did the installation not the designer as Ryan suggests.

The firehouse clearance issue was fixed. The track now freely flows through that. Nothing else really on the lift.

It was probably not Maurer's fault. I wouldn't consider them to be a smaller company, as they have many coasters all over the world, many of them are very one of a kind. Keep in mind they are the ones who built all of those sky wheel coasters.

The back of the fire house still needs to be fixed. Lift work was getting done today not track but all the other stuff like electricall, and standing platforms with rails. I would imagine the lift will get done in the next week or so. The remaining track has been moved to the front of the storage area so looks like it might be ready to go. Got some cool photos today as the far end where the firhouse is was open so got some cool photos from the end. Tons of other work getting done with exit stairs, brake run plate forms and some dirt work gettting done in the front area. Anyway things are moving along pretty well, as there is a lot of work getting done around the site.. Lots of photos from today are here.. Johnnyupsidedown.com Rip Rockit Photos
Here is a back end shot...

Now that all the track is in place, I can't wait to see it testing in the next few weeks or a month.

I doubt they're going to make Memorial Day at this rate, and then Manta will steal the show.

This does look like a good coaster though. Very twisted track layout and a lot of good airtime too.

Well then who do we blame for the firehouse clearance? How about the support that had to be fixed to line up with the track? The construction company? Absolutely not!

The lift hill isn't the ONLY thing that's gone wrong when it comes to the installation of this ride and for whatever reason you don't want to point the finger at Maurer Sohne even though they've previously made 2 very simple (and not typical) design errors. You're claiming it just happens to be a coincidence, and I'm claiming it's not.

How bout this, I'll blame the company that designed the ride (Maurer Sohne) based on the fact that they've made 2 previous brain fart mistakes until there's some kind (any kind) of evidence that the construction company contributed to the problem. Sounds fair to me.

I was only talking about the lift hill problem, I didn't even bring the others up.

The other clearance problems like the firehouse could very well be, and probably was, Maurer Shone's fault. All I was trying to say was that if there was an issue such as the track not lining up with the supports, it very well could have been caused by the construction company. They could have easily placed the support structure an inch off mark. I'm not saying they did, I'm just saying it's possible.

I still think that drops gonna be a lot of fun cause the trains are only 2 cars long, there's not going to be any front car waiting for the back of the train to "catch up".

And steeper drops don't always guarantee more airtime.

It is still a steep drop. Any guesses on the angle of it? And I wonder if the second drop after the first MCBR is any steeper.

I believe the first drop is *67 degrees I have no idea about the first drop off the first MCBR. It looks even steeper then the first drop which kinda had me alittle worry about the pacing of this ride especially in that area. Is the train going to have to come to a damn near complete stop or is there going to be EJECTOR airtime I can't wait to see how this turns out. I'm really hoping for these MCBRs to be used as more speed/block checks instead of trims since theres so many of them. Anyways can't wait till this thing opens I already have my 2 park 7-day ticket just taunting me hurry up HRRR
