Well, new photos are up from today 7-19-09, was able to catch some more testing. The ride is getting closer to finish. Still lots of things to do. Word from around tha park was they were shooting for end of July opening but dont think they will make it so may be into August. Bascially was told they want to make sure it is working before they open it.

DANG! I'm gonna be there the 22nd though the 29th. I was hoping I could ride it. It doesn't have to work before they open it

Its getting to the point where I don't even care about this ride anymore.

I understand they want it right before it opens, but its getting ridiculous, its taken WAY too long.

The Japanese version would have opened by Memorial Day if we had that one.

Any updates on this coaster's opening? I'm in Florida for a couple of weeks now, and I'm curious as to if there would be any possibility that it would open before the 15th. Unfortunately, the park seems pretty uncertain on an opening date, and the latest rumors I've found while Googling point towards a Labor Day opening . I plan on going to the park regardless, so this just affects which day I go.
Thanks.

I don't think anyone knows its opening date. I was down there 2 weeks ago, and of course it wasn't open. I don't even visit FL very much.

I think it will just open one day, all of us will be happy and then they will plan a big opening hoopla.

Good news!!! Soft openings over the next 4 weeks so I am guessing a mid to late
September for an official opening.
Today they started letting park staff ride it this evening. So things are looking good..

So this morning figured I would head over to Universal to do a final photo shot for my construction collection. Got to the park about 9:00am, pretty quite so decided to hope in line for HRRR.. Single rider wait was 45 min. Took one ride and that was that. How is the ride. Well, the lift is cool, the first drop is very nice, pretty good speed and up into the non inverted loop. Its designed well and the train takes it with a nice flow. Brake, and another drop. and so on and so on.. For me I was not all that interested in the sound system but feel it adds to this particular ride. You can still hear screams but only your music. Alot of discussion has been around the net as to if the ride is rough. Its not rough in the sense of not ride able, its more jiggely (herky jerky as I call it) due to the large amount of small directional changes in the ride. Kinda like a wild mouse joustles you around. It just dosent produce enough forces to make it rough in a non rideable way.. The trains design also leads to the jiggelyness of the ride. 2 seat trains or articulated trains would help with the jiggling. . Is it fun, YES, ride again, YES.. Worth a 2 hour wait maybe not. 45 min wait was tolerable..

Lots of awesome photos from today of pretty much the whole ride. Johnnyupsidedown.com New 2009

Sounds like a great ride overall, but the fact that it semes to be basically forceless makes me sad.
