2008 Frontier City

"From what we’ve heard the GM of Frontier City gave new employees a few hints about the 2008 attraction, saying that it cost $4 million, “has tracks, and those tracks are above your head.” - from Screamscape. For months I've been reading about a clearing, Silver Bullet being repainted. Could Frontier City be getting one of those Deja Vu's? a Vekoma SLC? a Junior Vekoma SLC? Could there have been a transaction for the SLC sitting at Great Escape unused?

Is it the Elitch Gardens Flying Coaster that will be SBNO this season?

I actually think that it will be The Flying Coaster from Elitch Gardens. Because based on the tight schedule if they wanted anything open by May or when they open, they would need something that has proven operations. Either that or some portable Inverted Coaster.

I thought it was already confirmed that it was a Jr. Vekoma suspended. That would be sweet if it was a Deja Vu, but I'm not thinking so. Does a Jr. Vekoma cost 4 million? That seems a little high.

I hope it's a new layout Vekoma Jr. Suspended. I've been on Runaway Reptar and Swamp Thing. Funny how in the same park, Cypress Gardens, the other but up right sit down coaster is just a clone in layout I think.

They don't need to disappoint me with a SLC. Just avoid it and say you're going after family, the new in thing.

This is a Vekoma family Jimmy Neutron invert at Movie World Germany. I saw the pic before.

This could be a ride possibility. It would be a winner if they got one.

Well the news papers around OKC are claiming that the coaster is being custom built for Frontier City. Clone or not this will be one the very VERY few attractions that get to call Frontier City their first home. That park is the king of used rides. I wouldn't be surprised if the coaster is a clone because people down there really don't know squat about parks outside the state. Bell's claimed Zingo had the most expensive coaster station in the world when they remodeled it after the fire.

My only real complaints about the coaster are that they removed Tomahawk and that it's going in right next to Silver Bullet. That puts three coaster in that one corner of the park, leaving only Diamondback to tip the balance towards the front of the park in the coaster department.

BTW, I really hope the new company in charge of FC will do something about Nightmare already. That coaster has been a sore spot for that park for about 15 years now. Take it out already. It's a portable coaster. It should not be hard to remove.

The Jimmy Neutron has the portable footers that would allow it to be laid down over gravel or concrete. I expect this new coaster to have near the same. Now I wonder which coaster will be up first - this one or the portable Tony Hawk version going to SFDK.

Steel Lasso it is according to the Frontier City website.

On Amusement Today I've seen the Steel Lasso layout. It's just like the Jimmy Neutron coaster layout. I don't see how it could be custom unless there's a few custom supports for the park.

Still nothing but a fence, dirt, and some banners. One banner in particular says a new Family Restroom is coming. They could sure come up with better news than that in OK.

Footers are being poured and I guess because it has footers this is why it was called unique for Frontier City having it. The European version is a portable over gravel.
