Smile Dollywood 2009

I let out of the bag at Thrills in the Hills over the weekend that we will make our announcement in August.

I hinted that the attraction will be brown and green.

Let the guesses begin.

My guess, roller coaster, inverted or suspended.
Or new garbage cans for the park, brown and green to fit in to the follage. Brown for winter and green for summer.

I do have a question that should be a simple yes or no question pete. Is Timber Tower safe for atleast 2009? I've heard that it could be removed...

It is being repaired now. We were waiting for some parts to be shipped in from Canada.

Ok, so it is safe?
As much as I'd like to see a coaster come in, I doubt it for 2009. When in August should we know?

Green and Brown? It's a new tree. duh.... Or perhaps a drop tower themed to a large tree. Hmmmmm.

Hey Pete, Its Justin from No Coaster Con.

- I think that the attraction would probably be a Huss Giant Frisbee thats Brown with the Frisbee Seating area being Green called Buzzsaw.

I Could see that based on Dollywood's Recent History

- 2004: Wooden Coaster for Thrill Seekers

- 2005: Rejuvinated Country Fair for Families

- 2006: Timber Tower for The Tween (Right in the Middle)

- 2007: Mystery Mine for Thrill Seekers

- 2008: Beaver "I Mean" River Battle for Families

- 2009: Buzzsaw (Huss Giant Frisbee) for Thrill Seekers in the New Wilderness Pass Area to Encourage more foot Traffic and To show people that there is a new area, along with a Possible Future Train Station and a shop or 2?

How's the Dollywood Resort Hotel going on By the Way?

^ I HIGHLY doubt HFE makes the mistake of getting another Huss ride! Seeing as how TT's treated them, I don't see it even possible...

Dude according to your pattern, DW is due for another "tween" ride. I don't see the new ride being a flat though. My guess is a unique drop tower or coaster. DW always gets something totally original which is not found in other US parks (which of course is what makes Dollywood so great.) Do ya'll know of anything in Europe or Japan (or anywhere else) that we haven't seen in the states?

^^ It has been said by a VERY reliable source. However, this could be just a cover-up for the big Beemer we're getting in 2010...

Lightbulb

If it was a coaster wouldn't we have seen some signs of it in the park already? Markers, holes, footers starting to be poured, spray paint marks on trees?

i would rather see a big thrill ride come in than a rollercoaster, cause in 2010 theres sposed to be a big coaster coming in so i think the buzzsaw thing sounds pretty believiable, keeping with the theme back there. although he said familys are going to love it, and thats a thrill ride... so now i have no clue lol

They also said Families would love Mystery Mine. My parent's and little sister are terrified of that ride!
It'd be pretty nifty if this year we got and Intamin Gyro Swing or whatever, and then the next year, 2010, we get a Huge Intamin coaster similar to Maverick!

Maverick isn't huge. Not by a long shot. There are three Intamin coaster in Cedar Point alone that are at least twice as tall as Maverick.

Talking

You know what if what they are adding is something like the new Gerstlauer Sky Roller now that would be cool. Youtube video of the first one ever can be seen here this could be very family thrilling.

I didn't mean that Maverick was HUGE, but it's just the right size for DW

^It's elements are huge. A great line of elements.

However, two coasters going over 90 degrees in one park will most likely not happen.

I'm not talking about a coaster EXACTLY like Maverick, just something similar. Something that hugs the ground, that way a coaster won't be ruining the view of the mountains in the park...

Similar to the Screamin Swing.

And Maverick's elements are not huge. Just because they have that butterfly corkscrew thing that is wide, doesn't make them huge. That's like saying Loch Ness Monster or Hydra has huge elements. They look big, but compared to other coasters of their style, they are average or small.
