Now that we have all of that out of the way can you tell us when construction is going to start? I really want to see the terrain. I'm guessing that it will go up pretty quickly since it's so close to the ground.

Yes, I'm Evan. Sorry for not introducing myself.

I'll be at a desk instead of on-site for construction, but we're always in constant communication with the field. Unfortunately, I won't be able to post too much here about construction, but I always post everything that I can at the Intern Site. It's a bit more controlled and easier than posting to individual forums. I also try to avoid posting on forums too much nowadays because of my connection with Great Coasters, but I wanted to at least clear up what I mentioned in my blog since it seemed to cause a bit of confusion.

I'm also not really at liberty to talk about when construction will start or anything of that nature, but I'm sure PR at Worlds of Fun will keep us all posted about that. And again, as soon as we have something to show for it, I'll mention it in my blog.

Glad to see everyone is excited about Prowler, though. I'm sure it will deliver.

I completly understand about all the things that you are not able to talk about.
Thanks for the update and clarification about construction. I know there are alot of rules(concerns) about you posting any information about the rides progress.
Hope Worlds of Fun will keep us up to date on the happenings of construction. I see that they have a webcam and some type of blog on the Prowler website.

Thanks Evan I will keep an eye on the intern site.
Thanks,
J>

Thanks Jive. I was wondering about how the layout might look in the area they are going to put it..

Jive, the layout you show looks great over the picture, and it make a lot of sense that they would lay it out that way. It doesn't match the video and images released though. They show the main hill and drop to be pointing more south, towards Boomerang and Mamba. Your layout would be pointing that hill more north-east.

I have no idea what's right, I'm just throwing out my observation.

Thanks

The videos and renderings were done that way on purpose. PR wanted to have WOF landmarks in them.

Nice catch though.

So is there any news about whether we're getting the ferris wheel and carousel that's been talked about to go in the same area as Prowler? Either way it seems like the area between Prowler and Fury should be able to be developed over time.

I was a thrown off at first too. That helps a lot with regards to placement. If it was the same as the video it probably wouldn't work out.

The ferris wheel from GL is going to Kings Dominion and since the carousel wasn't announced with Prowler I would assume that it's on hold for the time being.

I was just thinking....

Should we be concerned with deer/other woodland creatures around the ride?
Like one of them jumping over a fence, or getting in somehow?

Not anymore as you worry about the geese that fly across Kingda Ka. Who cares if you swap a couple bugs with a coaster train like on TTD supposedly.

I guess this coaster will definitely be loud enough to warn an animal of its approach.

I hate to double post, BUT...

This was on the WOF Blog post "PROWLER".
What the heck is this about?:

Whats the name of, or is there a ride comeing soon after prowler, I read in a blog somewhere that somebody who had a friend that worked at WOF had said there was a new ride comeing shortly after.

From Brandon:
Are you talking about CommanderHawk? I will have more information on that ride soon, lets just enjoy this one for now.

Brandon is just poking fun.... He is also playing off the online joke of every new Cedar Fair coaster having to have "hawk" somewhere in its name.

Why? Prowler is an excellent addition to the park. Nothing else is needed at this time. If the carousel is to still be added to the park, it would make sense to do that in 2010 in what would have been an "off season" for an addition.

I meant that it would be cool to have another addition WITH Prowler.

I absolutely cannot wait for it to open!!!!!!!

By the way........when is it supposed to open next spring???
(If construction progresses without major delay, of course!)

It should open with the park next Spring. They don't expect construction to take very long since the bulk of the ride is so close to the ground.

But do they have a specific week, or day yet?

Or are they just waiting to see how that plays out.

According to Brandon on the blog, prep work ONSITE has now begun at Worlds of Fun. I guess we'll see if anything is visible this coming weekend.
