Hersheypark 2009

A waterpark is not my cup of tea but the Canyon River Rapids was closed 8/17/08. I was on the ride the very last day. The signage has been removed from the Intamin River Rapids ride and demo work has started. They plan to put a wave pool and lazy river in its place.

This past summer I went to Hershey, didn’t like the Boardwalk much. WAY to crowded. We had to wait a half hour or so to get into any of the water attractions. Than you only got fifteen minutes in each of them, really stupid. Hopefully the new expansion will help move things along better and help thin out the crowds.

I think that the Board Walk was awfully executed. It's way too small and the attractions really aren't that great. So they need any help they can get right now for the Board Walk.

I still don't know why they added a water into the main park instead of building a separate admission park. They have the land to do it and why not expand Hershey as a destination.

more to the point. After hearing of all the problems with teh capacity of the boardwalk area I think adding too high capacity attractions will help things greatly.

There's way more crushed, crunched up demolition of that water rapids area. I saw pics on the 'Scape.

They don't want to have two parks in Hershey.

Besides, Rapids was on its way out anyway. I wish they were putting in something more exciting, though. Never should've put in the waterpark...should've done more exciting rides.

Sure, now they have a waterpark, but it's jam-packed, and I don't see how adding to the area is going to give breathing room to the area that already exists and is cramped. The only way I could see changing that is if they physically moved the rides, and they're not ever going to do that.
