Since Six Flags announced some of their 2009 rides including the Monster Plantation(Mansion) rehab, it doesn't seem like enough for SFOG. I still think that there will be something else.

I guess we'll wait and see. In the mean time, we can discuss the Monster Plantation rehab. I had a small feeling that they would rehab it soon since Tales of the Okeefenokee was renovated in 1981.

I doubt there will be more. This is basically a way to spend very little money and upgrade rides and call them new next year. It's a great idea imo for some of the attractions.

With six flags in bad financial straits I wouldn't expect them to be spending alot of money. I visitied six flags st louis and did like it alot. I wasn't used to having guards check you out before you entered though. I hope six flags can turn itself around. I intend to go back next summer at least once.

I wouldn't care if this was the only "new" thing at SFOG in 2009, I think it's a great idea. Monster Plantation is a classic and I'm happy the park somehow managed to get this rehab together without having to bastardize the ride with some Scooby Doo theme or anything of that sort.

KUDOS to 'Over Georgia for showing some love to an older attraction.

A little update since the last post (a long time ago); according to Six Flags' website, Monster Mansion will feature some new characters and a new storyline. It is being renovated by Gary Goddard, who did the original Monster Plantation renovation after Tales of the Okeefenokee(which was developed by Sid and Marty Krofft).

I also read somewhere (I think on Six Flags' site, but can't seem to find it) that there will also be a Monster Mansion Store much like the store when Monster Plantation debuted.

Monster Mansion will open in mid-May.
