Good pics wes. The funny thing about the dryer is guest have been asking for those all season. I personally have had over a dozen guest ask if we had a pay dryer. Looks like someone was listening.

I ran into Dani at the park today and she said that whoever comes to Coaster Stock is going to get a nice little surprise. Of course she won't say what, and it could be anything from press materials to whatever 2010 is, to an invite to the press conference, to whatever. But she seemed to hint that it had something to do with 2010.

The dryer has been covered up now. Like it's a super big secret or something. lol

Alright, I'll keep an eye out for everyone. I've already told a guy who supervises Afterburn that I would wave or say Hi to him if i saw him, haha. I've been talking to him on TPR. If you see some tall guy walking and he randomly waves at you...it's probably me,haha.

I would love to join, seeing how I live 5 minutes from the park. However, I am lazy, carless, and poor. Haha

Look for kids with blue shirts that say " Lashmeet/ Matoaka Class of 2009" or something like that. That's the group i'm traveling with. It's my Sister's 8th Grade class. I personally won't we wearing one though. I'll probably have a Grey Old Navy Shirt and Tan Cargo Pants so keep an eye out :P.

I haven't decided what I'll have on. Probably either my Goliath or Diamondback shirt(s) on. Hint hint.

I wonder what Bart thought of me the other day when I walked by with my DB shirt on.

Sorry to double post but my trip was great! I didn't see any of you there, lol. I rode everything like 2 or 3 times, haha. I actually rode Afterburn like five times today. It wasn't crowded and we practically walked on everything except for nighthawk.Oh and I must include stuff about 2010 so i'm not completely off topic here. The area where the 2010 attraction is to be placed is almost completely flat now and I noticed a little clearing which is fenced off behind drop zone. This could possibly be a place they could sit some track at . Oh and the new haystack dryer near white water falls is open now BTW if nobody knew :P . Well that's about it I guess.

You Carrowinds guys may want to go look around tomorrow. I believe some yellow "square shaped" intamin like supports may be showing up on your doorstep.

Trucks came to KD today and loaded up the yellow supports and hauled them away.

Rumor has it that these were supposed to go to Carrowinds (according to some KD employees).

This is all rumor as no one has any facts.

Also Dick Kinzel and other CF officials have been spotted at KD today as well (again according to other sources).

Just an FYI.

Greg

I got some pictures of the parking lot but you can barely see the fence. All you can see is an empty parking lot, lol. I'll try to get them up. I wanted to get pictures of the clearing but didn't unfortunately . I kinda hope those supports don't show up at Carowinds. I want a B&M hyper .

I'm shocked noone has noticed this.

Vortex actually still has its footer markings, and are as clear as day.

If you look at one of the markings in the parking lot, and one of Vortex's markings they are the same pattern exactly.

Would Intamin be using B&M markings?

Awesome . Good Observation! I wish we could see all the markings so we could make a sort of layout of the ride. I'm guessing C is for "Column" then which order the column comes which is the number then " L or R" for left or right. Would that fit with the number on Vortex's support? Intamin could use those markings though if it was a universal thing with manufacturers. Does anyone have pictures of any markings with numbers/letters in that form for past coasters that are not B&M ?

Why would there be two intamin tracks at two parks? I don't think CF does clones?

^^ Someone on Carowinds Connection said this is only B&M's pattern. Arrow used something like "C25" as an example.

I looked through the fence on Afterburn, and they don't appear to have left the markings on Afterburn's footers.

That looks like the standard B&M type numbers, C would be column, 25 is number and L would be left side. I know at Busch gardens, they have all of the colums marked in the same way.. I think they use an S for the station ones. I probably have a photo or two some where.
Here is a colum base of Sheikra, its even on the tag and welded to the steel.
http://www.rcdb.com/ig2662.htm?picture=5

Doubleing up.
After looking at the blueprint for Hydra.. Here is how the colums are arranged..
Station colums are with ST 1 , 2 and so on. Transfer is T ... L is used for the lift hill colums
Then starting with the first part of the drop it starts with C1 being colum 1
Col set 1 is first colum, and in that set you would have L for left and R for right and then a 1 if needed.. Other wise, the colums are numbered in sections.
So WES that photo you took of C25L that is going to be somewhere in the third hill. So if you study the markers you see you can judge where the colums go and you could follow them. On Hydra C25 is about the first part of the Z g roll after the drop and looping turn. (one exception to Hydra is it has colums before the lift so they acutlly state at the station with C1 then L1 then back to somehthing like C11). I am sure if you look in some of the KI site of the large Diamond back construction you can determain about what part of the ride it would be.. I would say maybe second or third hill is where C25L is from.
Or just look at Diamond back and start with the top of lift and count the colums.. Count 25 attachment points and it will show you where C25 is

^ Thanks Johnny. I'd have to look closer at my last marker near the south gate, but it's really high like 80 or something.

OK time for my update:

The ant hills keep growing. I guess they are doing soil tests?

Will do.

Apparently white paint wasn't good enough, so they painted over with orange.

76 is that way.

Drilling co.

As you can see the markings go all the way to south gate.

I'm guess the turnaround/hammerhead will be here but they are using it for all the junk they dig up right now I think.

Hello south gate. I haven't used you in a while.

Only cut here if you want to see something go BOOM!

Just a comparison of a Vekoma footer. Nighthawk's says something like "F20A", like Footer 20 A.

More footerage.

Time for dirt porn!

Hmmm.. what is going on here?

There were a few peeps at Sonfest.

Just a few... and that's all for your daily installment of dirt and paint porn.

You can see even more over at Carowinds Connection.com or my website southernscream.net and click on the photos link, and then to Carowinds 2009.

That was great detective work there Wes with the footers when we went to the park Tuesday.

Are they digging a basin in your 6/14 update?

Just to throw out an idea- do the track pieces at the B&M plant have supports to go along with them right now? If they do, we could match up the numbers on the supports with the markers on the ground.

^^ Leo it looks like they are digging out some sort of flat spot, but it could be for anything *cough* splashdown *cough*

^ And Racer I'm not sure where those pics are of the red track, let me see if I can find it.

EDIT: I can't find anything. Why isn't anyone at the plant these days taking pics? LOL
