I guess that backs up the "Enjoy your 3 minute ride on Intimidator at Carowinds, America's Rollercoast" line.

i drove all the way to the park from statesville after work today and i was disappointed that they were not testing when i got there, does anybody know what time/days they test? I took pictures but i am not going to bother uploading them it isn't anything anybody hasn't seen a thousand times already (i just wanted some of my own pictures). I also drove down carowinds blvd but couldnt see cyclone so i cant say if there is any news on that; at least i tried.

also, there were others taking pictures of intimdiator, and I hate to say it but nobody knows how to drive at the carowinds area.

Nope, I've got a request in to go out to the park and get some closeup video of it testing, but according to Dani they don't really have a set schedule. They were testing today!

I already thought about first drop photo coverage. Everyone in the parking lot will get the MCBR cutting right through it. I guess it will take an enthusiast's day or just a ride on the train formerly known as Dora's to get the pic of other side of the first drop clean of obstruction. Standing at the coaster formerly known as Hey Arnold will probably help afford that pose too.

I was at the park friday night, Cyclone still looks to be blue and black like it hasn't even been cleaned yet. But do note last year on Nighthawk they started mid feburary...

Also on T.Road, the last hill leading into the turn around was torn out on both sides, its not a very long section just the last bunny hill on the way out and the hill up onto the turn around, they have already started putting the new wood back up.

^Oh, okay. Thanks. They might tear out some more of Thunder Road after they get this section finished or something. Isn't the wood supposed to be completely replaced on the whole ride eventually?

^ Yes they have said they are going to eventually rebuild the whole ride.

I was at the park today and filmed it testing. They've already either changed out some wheels or something because its a bit slower than the video on Thursday.

You should've seen how slow it creeps after the midcourse when they e stop it there!

If silly YouTube ever starts working again I'll get the link for ya. Sadly I had changed areas when they e-stopped it on the midcourse so I didn't get a good view of that.

^It already has slowed down a bit, but it is still flying through the course, and the back two seats look like they are being yanked over each hill!

Here she is. It's a wonder I could hold the camera even remotely still watching it test.

Thumbs down, the traffic going across took away from the coaster.

Just kidding. Couldn't you have crossed the street and climbed onto that grassy knoll and gotten a slightly better view? It was nice to hear the roar though.

Loving the roar from Timmy for sure. Not as good as Kumba's but any park that keeps a Beemer roar is good in my books.

It's one of those flashing lights like you see on the the top of Cell towers. It makes something that's tall visible to pilots flying airplanes. It's probably required for structures over a certain height.

Someone on C.C. said they drove by the park to see Carolina Cyclone and one part of the track was painted Teal and the other was painted purple. I guess they're just trying out different colors or something?

Those two videos aren't mine, but I have let the person know that owns them and they will be reporting them to YouTube.

Andrew: Would you like fries with that too?

Actually the park has been very picky about people climbing up on their grassy hills taking pictures/video.

Plus Carowinds Blvd. is a very busy street, and I really don't feel like getting run over.

That might be the red marker light for the crane. I think it's still there. I know Goliath at SFOG has the red marker light. I wonder how close that and this Intimidator is to an airport. SFGADV is not too far away from a Air Force base, actually planes fly over the Lakefront section of the park, but NITRO doesn't have those kind of lights. Obviously only Kingda Ka does.

^^Oh, My bad Wes. I thought that was you the whole time, haha.

I hope they don't paint it teal, Carolina Cobra's Supports are teal =\. I was looking for something bright like yellow and orange or a Light blue and grey or something. I wouldn't mind purple, just as long as it's not dark.

i came across this on a wikipeida page (of coarse it is only Wikipedia): Cedar Fair announced that the Starlight Experience would be coming to three new parks in 2010 in their 2009 Q3 Earnings report. Cedar Point installed the Starlight Experience in 2009 for 1 Million.

Here is what it is:

Maybe coming to carowinds in 2010 as our yet to be announced surprise??

Any structure over 200 feet needs a beacon light to warn pilots, no matter how close to or far away from an airport it is. Nitro should have one, but I don't know when this policy came into effect.

Let's hope they do bring that to Carowinds. I'd love to have the park open through nov-dec again.

At SFGADV in the front of the park, Kingda Ka definitely has it all, Parachute drop has the beacon, preceding Kingda Ka, just the Parachutes had that beacon, NITRO does not. Maybe that was part of the coverage a beacon on NITRO would have had, the parachutes already took care of it. I think Steel Force has that beacon. The Lehigh Valley airport is not too far away.

Charlotte Airport is also like 5 miles from the park or less.

The sky coaster structure is so close to being a mobile phone tower structure which would have the light. The placement of the light probably is relative to what area structures may already have the light or lack it. The Intimidator and Drop Tower would be the more stable, erect towers. I don't know the criteria of course.

Top Gun Shoots Down Wild Bull At Paramount's Carowinds Park | Manufacturing > Machinery & Equipment Manufacturing from AllBusiness.com

Of coarse, I was hoping for something more thrilling but if they still have it and put it back, ill ride it.

It's amazing these things never really leave the trash heap, I mean junkyard of parks. Is that the Schwarzkopf Bayern Curve ride? File:Bayern Kurve Day 1.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I heard Kennywood brought their's back. I rode one at CGA. I guess parks know what are the classic reliable rides worth saving.

It isn't much it is just a carowinds classic, it used to be where afterburn is now. here is what it looked like: Carowinds: The Early Years

I too would rather see a giant frees bee, but wild bull would be great because it is on the border of planet snoopy and the adult park, and it is a ride that both kids and adults would enjoy.
