Holiday World 2009

This may be old news to some but Holiday World has their Pilgrim's Plunge construction cam up here:

WebCams & Weather

I can't wait to go next year, I have my season pass already. I was curious how much land the Koch's own and how big Holiday World / Splashin Safari may get. I hope they can eventually be open nine months like Dollywood and Silver Dollar City. I mean, it only stands to reason to have a big Christmas Festival in a town called Santa Claus!

I know that eventually they want Voyage as the center piece of their park. So I am sure they do own quite a bit of land.

And yes, those cameras have been known about for quite awhile now. At least, I have known about them since the announcement.

You are correct Katie. If I remember correctly on the Voyage construction tour, it was said that the station of Voyage is pretty much the center of the land that they own. There will be lots more park built before Will Koch is done with the park.

Not old news, actually ... the Pilgrims Plunge construction cam has only been active for about a week.

We have about 80 to-be-developed acres to the north, so yes The Voyage will eventually be the middle of the park. (That reminds me ... need to budget for a personal Segway in a few years!)

Merry Christmas, Paula

Holiday World surely will include a steel coaster or two in their future. I would think three wooden coasters is enough until some other styles of coasters are used. Plus, it would take ALOT to follow the Voyage. I have to say Splashin Safari rocks big time. They have wonderful, high quality, impressive rides. The only thing they could use would be a water coaster I suppose.

I heard the splash isn't as good as what people would think. Although, I also heard it's fun. The drop should've been steeper though.

Which is unusual because commonly on water ride, especially log flumes, the water hit towards the back. However, if you look at a video of the ride, at the end of the drop, a huge gush of water smacks the front row.

I rode it this past weekend at Holiwood Nights 4 times and its great! Overall its a great water ride, because you're sure to get wet no matter what seat (although the splash isn't as big as everyone expected) and the lift is amazing! The front right gets wet the most (watch out at the last turn before the lift), the middle rows your side will get soaked, and the back row... soaked lol. I only have to minor complaints, the lift should be slower to make it a little more intense and the drop could be steeper.
