| Texas Giant will close in 2010; will undergo $10 million remodel
In preparation for its 50th anniversary, Six Flags Over Texas will close their Texas Giant roller coaster for an entire year as it undergoes a $10 million dollar transformation which will include brand new trains. It will reopen for the 2011 season in celebration of the park's anniversary. Another (to be announced) major attraction is also planned for Six Flags Over Texas next year. Thank god, I rode it in the backseat two years ago and my back hurt for a week. It would be a good ride, and I hope when it is done it's ten times smoother and the back part of the course runs quicker. As for a large attraction, not sure what it could be. Maybe another wooden coaster, maybe something better.
