Because that is how its done. The park that is getting a coaster has other parks within a certain distance something like 300 miles agree not to build the same ride for I believe it to be 7 years. Kinda silly to put a hyper at Sea World and drive 10 miles to Universal and get another hyper.

The reason I know this exists is I asked about it while talking with the one of the B&M reps at one of the tours I did at Worlds of FUn for Patriot.

Now, Lets go off topic for a moment,, take HRRR at Universal.. BGT has a contract with B&M for a Hyper, remeber the rumors that HRRR was supposed to be just like the one in Japan.. Well, guess why it didnt get a hyper becuase of the same stipulation with the non competence agreement.. Also why Manta was a flyer from B&M allthough there were other ride types and manufacure considered.

One other point about B&M.. B&M dont make the money as you would think. People here of a coaster for 15 million.. Well the actuall B&M company makes less then a million a coaster probably less.. Considering that B&M are a couple of engineers that design things. The real money is in the fabrication.. Let alone take a ride like manta, most of the design and ideas were done in house as in Sea Worlds development team.. The talk I had with Brian about how a coaster gets built at Manta Media Day. It was awesome to learn how its done. Its not so much that B&M design the rides, its more that B&M decdid that a ride is possible..

Anyway long story short the non competence exists to not flood the market in one area and to keep the parks in compition, but really if you think about the parks have to work togethere to make both parks successfull.

So now back to the topic at hand. Onething that nobody noticed is that the trailers delivering the supports are coming from the B&M plant, its possible that Ohio Fabricators is doing supports for the rumored INtiman coaster.. Well, I was thinking the other day what if by chance it turns out to be a geovinala and that Ohio Fab used to do there track so its familier... I cant wait to see the track show up then we can narrow it down to types of rides instead of guessing manufacture and ride type, All though It appears to be INtiman.

Somebody get JOHNNY a spell checker or can one be added to the forums.

Trucks came to KD today and loaded up the yellow supports and hauled them away.

Rumor has it that these were supposed to go to Carrowinds (according to some KD employees).

This is all rumor as no one has any facts.

Also Dick Kinzel and other CF officials have been spotted at KD today as well (again according to other sources).

Just an FYI.

A member of my website is at the park today on a huge east coast trip & he can also confirm that he has seen supports being loaded into a semi. Where those trucks are going, I don't know, but it's true.

EDIT: Photo to back it up:

Well, I'm not sure WHERE they get it, but it definitely wouldn't put them out of business if they did it right. For example, as we all know, Apple signed an exclusivity contract with AT&T, but the catch from AT&T's end was that they have to pay Apple $300 per iPhone they sell. Yet, you don't see either of those two companies going out of business. Perhaps Busch is paying an outrageous premium for the exclusive construction rights to dive coasters.

Here's video if you haven't seen it.

It's hard to believe that they'd get the address wrong for something like this. But anything is possible I guess.

I found footer markings on Vortex yesterday that seem to confirm that Carowinds is still getting B&M.

I guess it's possible that it still is B&M and they had to change their footers for the project at Carowinds. If you look at the fence in area near South Gate at Carowinds, it's a pretty small area. I'm imagining that a hammerhead could go there, but it would be a squeeze.

Could it be that KD's coaster just got cancelled?
I still have a feeling that Carowind's coaster is going to be B&M.

Could we be seeing a new unique B&M with square supports at Carowinds. I mean although it is a slim (nearly impossible) chance, I have heard of parks partnering up with a coaster company ti create a completly new coaster... Lagoon, cough... Wicked!, cough...

I don't think so. If you look at the pattern of markers at Carowinds, it's got to be a hyper.

You don't have a launch coaster with a hard right turn!

Yes, there is....Rita Queen of Speed at Alton Towers does have that turn right after the launch. :-)

I am just laughing at the fact that they got the wrong park and have to reload the supports and haul them a few more hours south. I am just cracking up on the inside. LMAO

I just don't understand how they get a coaster delivery wrong. I can understand a package of cookies. But a coaster with a price tag of AT LEAST $15 Million minimum.

They didn't get the address wrong. Got to love the internet rumours.
I think the more logical explanation is that they are moving them off site for now.
Let's not forget what's at the park this weekend. Whole lot easier to deny existance of something when it is NOT on site. I highly doubt that the park is ready to announce next year's addition already.

I agree with DHollon. The park just might trying to hide them from the public.

Red track is now on site at the park.I tried to post about this earlier but the site was down for hours this afternoon.

The track appears to be the same double spine design being used on the F-1 coaster at ferrari world in the UAE......I hope that this will NOT be another launched coaster though.

Heres a YOUTUBE>.
My guess would be its a terrain speed coaster in the woods. Or something like what they are doing at the Ferrari World.

I think an F1 coaster would be cool. KD could really market that if it was. "America's first F1 coaster". Oh yeah the GP will love that.

I remember seeing a coaster a while back that was designed by either Mack or Premier, can't remember which one, but it was called an F1 coaster and it just featured a ton of oversized inversions, a couple of which I've never seen. It was either in an article about future rides from Europe, or an editorial about the Euro-Attractions show. I've been searching for it for the past hour or so but can't find anything.

Vekoma's new track style is very similar...this could be something like a booster bike but god I hope not.I hope this ride isn't a launcher so as more track comes in perhaps someone should look to see if any segments have anti rollback plates on them that would indicate lift segments.

Wow, that is a very interesting development. That track is...unique. The closest thing I could find was Rip, Ride, Rockit being built at Universal. Compare the track at 0:47 in the video to the picture and you'll notice identical white connectors at the end of the track with the two holes in them.

Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit (Universal Studios Florida)

That ride also has an odd spine on it seen here: Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit (Universal Studios Florida)

Maybe this is the next evolution of that ride design. Time will tell.

Imo this looks like Intamin Tri rail track on steriods. The HRRR track looks nothing like it the ties are flat on HRRR compared to the super beefy cone shaped ones on this KD track.

I've seen companies use the double spine before but the spines ran the track side by side on this monster track the spines are on top of each other leading me to believe that this is infact the New Super Beefy Intamin track.

What ever kind of coaster KD is getting is going to pack some MAJOR speed and forces that track is huge and may I add gorgeous. KD might just be grabbing at that fastest coaster in the world title who nows.

Now I'm just wating for them to come pick this track up and haul it off to really get the KD fanboys heads to rolling lol

Yeah after watching the video again it does look like intamin, you can kinda see the similar cross beams that intamin does that connect the two railson the top of the track

Smile Kings Dominion Doswell, VA New Coaster 2010

I visited KD on June 8th and while parking noticed a fenced in area with the begining delivery of large steel up rights for a coaster painted bright Yellow. Also while on the Anaconda Lift you can see land clearing and footer pooring next to the flight of Fear on land that has not been used by the park in the past and it is a large area behind where the king Cobra used to be. My only hope is this is a B&M flying coaster or at least a suspended coaster. Park employees are acting link nothing is being done or no details have been realeased even my maintenance buddies are hush hush would only say it is a coaster for 2010

That looks like some sort of heart surgery instrument that is featured in a pic on the 'Scape, the red track.

Looks like Intamin but I have absolutely no idea what kind of coaster it could be with track like that...

If its a launch coaster I'll be a little sad.

Having read a TR or two regarding the hurlfest event it was noted that John Pagel said that the park isn't interested in adding another launcher right now, still until I see evidence of lift components I'm a little worried that it'll be an F-1 clone.

I like the bread and butter B&M hypers but there may be too many of them? Is KD going to continue being the odd ball innovator park? I would accept something that's way better than Maverick.

Could that kind of bulky spine be for a new generation 4D coaster?
