SFGAM 2010 - Little Dipper

We have seen the Little Dipper announced for Six Flags Great America. It was purchased and moved from the closed nearby Kiddieland Amusement park. The land has been cleared at SFGAM and now I hear crews have started digging to erect footers this week.

I didn't even remember this place closing. So sad that these little places are going under so often now.

By September 2009 I believe. I think other family members that owned the land wanted to move on. It was sold to a party to build a Costco warehouse club and the members of the family operating the park had to auction the rides off with a deadline approaching to clear the property. Six Flags surprised us all, bought and saved Little Dipper for $33,000. I think Little Dipper has that same classic Fairly Odd Coaster layout.

I looked it up and it seems it might be a mirror version, but then again I was updating our database at the time, so that may be suspect. LOL

I guess since Zippin Pippin is gone, the King had to go north to ride a classic.

That's some pretty good progress he made already reaching Chicago. Where is he going to go for a year while is Zippin Pippin is built just a state north?

I've been to Six Flags Great America three times since LD opened, but it's always been down. I went week one, it was broke down. I went a couple weeks after, the lady standing at the entrance said it might not be open today. I went a few weeks ago and same thing, it might open later on today but we are unsure.

I haven't managed to see it test even. Yes, a new version of Zippin Pippin is being built in Green Bay, WI. I would like to ride it, but being a Bears fans it's impossible to get my dad to go to Green Bay.

The line with kids at 9pm at night looked like it was 45 minutes long. I had 5 other coasters at the time I wasn't on yet. I moved on to try to tackle those. I will come back for Little Dipper another time.

Wow, I reported about this little coaster being moved and I had to skip it this time when I visited the park for the first time last month.
