Interesting story. I may have to hold my trip there for another year to see what they get.

The Gravity Group seems to have been playing in Santa Claus a bit recently, why not another woodie?

I hope this rumor is true and i'm sure it is. The park is due a new coaster and i'll bet it's another woodie. I'm glad i canceled my trip to HW this year. If it's a new coaster i'll be there next year.

I'd also bet on a woodie and for two reasons. Reason 1: There were 5 years between Raven and Legend and it is now 5 years after Legend (It will most likely be an 06 ride so it will be a 6 year gap). Also, the title to the blog entry. "WOODn't you like to know?"

Thats intresting. I didn't even notice the title. Maybe their going to make the coaster out off all the trees the park is takeing out.

| Well I don't know about Legend, but for Raven they tried to save as many trees as possible... why would they tear down a whole area unless they have to. Thunderhead did that because it was designed via satelia GPS...maybe this will too. They probably don't care about being consistent with the years on adding new coasters/major attractions. The blog probably doesn't know what it is either, so the WOOD thing probably is just a spoof |

The blog is written by the park's PR director. I think Paula has a blue what's going on ![]() I almost knew they would be doing something when they announced this blog. I just had a feeling that they would be "leaking" information about a future ride to cause us enthusiasts to foam at the mouth. I think this line points towards a woodie as well: It looks as if the trees have been removed very precisely. One by one. As few as possible. Making room for … could be just about anything! *hopes for a Boulder-Dash inspired terrain woodie hidden deep within the forrest* |

Holiday World isn't a "steel-type-of-park" if you ask me, but you never know.....

I like the idea of the park staying pure wood. I don't think they need a steel coaster.

I think it should stay all wood as well. With steel a park loses it's small-town homey kind of feel. Besides, great woodies are, well, great. There are still plenty of places to ride great steelies. Wood blends into the wilderness better as well. I don't think they could afford a good steelie like a B&M or Intamin anyway. They could probably afford a Vekoma boomerang or something but that would look really cheap. No, I'd like it to stay wood. They might not care about consistency of years between attarctions, but they probably have to save up for a major ride. Its a small park so maybe it takes 5 years to save up for a new coaster. A Boulder Dash-esque ride would be great but its Indiana. Not too hilly. True, southern Indiana is more hilly than the north but still. And the person who wrote the blog DOES know what they're talking about. That is the official HW blog, not some nutcase's personal blog. And I don't think ANY park would lead us on and then crush our dreams. Not good PR. |

Hopefully they don't go Hershey Park on us and get a steel coaster. A steel coaster wouldn't even feel right in there. I can only see it being a new woodie.

Paula has been dropping clues at another site. After studying them extensively, I believe that the ride will be a woodie or an interactive dark ride. Steelie and new land seem to be out of the question. There is a slight chance of a flat but I doubt it.

I hope this park stays all wood. I think its' pretty cool if they do. Look at Hades and Zeus and Pagasus. They are a wood trio and I hate to think that that park (that I can't think ofthe name because it's 2 in the am and I'm friggin tired) should stay pure wood as well. Although I believe they do have a mall steel coaster (Little Titans I think). Woodies are great. That's one reason I love PKI. But they do well with steel also. I'm hopig Cedar Point will get a new woodie soon. I think they dont' want one because they have Mean Streak already, but a good GCI would be wonderful! I just hope HW is planning a new woodie.

Mount Olympus has 4 woodies: Hades, Zeus, Cyclops, and Pegasus; and 2 steelies: Little Titan and Dive to Atlantis.

Personally, I'd like to see a steel coaster added. Now I love woodies, but for me it would be a nice change to have some variety to the park with a steelie. I'm absolutely positive HW could add one without destroying the feel of the park. On the other hand, if it is a wooden coaster, I'm hoping for a dueling/racing one. They already have my 2 favorite wooden single track coasters, and how cool would it be if they had my favorite dueling/racing coaster!

Check out the today's Holiblog. There is a bucket of fasteners for the new ride that look like they could be for a wood coaster.

I think it's pretty clear is a wooden coaster. Sound exciting though considering the quality of wood coasters at Holiday World.

Right, I just want it to be a wood coaster because they are know for great wood coasters. You can go to almost any park and have all steel coasters with one or two wooden coasters and it would be nice to have a park that is just wooden coasters.

Well, Knoebels does have the worlds sweetest kiddie steel coaster too. CCI is no more, but they are somewhat re-incarnated in the Gravity Group.
