I think it's pretty well-known that the Worlds of Fun coaster is essentially a lock, though I'm not sure about ValleyfairĄ

My strong bet is 2007. Next year will be a prep year for something big in '07. I'll give a call to my guys out there though to see what they know.

Considering they're getting 2 flat rides this year. There's no way unless it was CP or a SF park that they'll also put in a major coaster the following season. It 's just not going to happen. Also on another thread I posted something that had a registered CF trademark name called the Patriot. That name would obviously fit best at Worlds of Fun.

that would fit nice in the America section, which means near timberwolf, detonator, or thunderhawk....theres room behind timberwolf though

also where were those pics take of the flags, in the america section?

2 floorless??....while were not sure what WoF is getting, we guess its an invert so i bet CF would not buy two floorless in one year, its possible but meh

the only thing that confuses(spelled wrong) is when i went to Valleyfair on the last day I talked to a operator of Excalibur and he said that they would tear down excalibur and put a coaster there .... but they just repainted it so i dont know

Don't believe everything a rideop says. They won't know until right before the announcement anyway, often they just talk out of their ass.

I think drewbie has the right idea...

i meant WoF

i hope its a new innovative design like the recent coasters that have been installed...maybe a new inversion introduced or interlocking loops (since we lost our old ones) - i really hope this coaster is tall, fast, pulls some major g's, has plenty (7 or preferably more) inversions, airtime, and an overbanked turn

i hope this is the hydra of inverts, extremely different with some new elements and introductions from the other kind

Welcome to the web: screamscape sucks

They are often times wildly inaccurate. Unless you see other sites (such as TN) posting it as news, don't buy into it too much.

thats such crap, i think screamscape is easily the most reliable source for rumours and news, seriously - for anything i have checked on they ended up being right....then again some of these rumours have been wrong, but some were still accurate

take the bgt coaster for example - for a long time there were rumours of a hyper possibly named silverback, well we still got a hyper - but its a dive machine too but its named Sheikra

Yea, they are good for news, but you can't go wrong reporting news (oh, wait, Dan Rather lol)

You said it yourself: yes, they guessed right about BGT getting a coaster, but you just proved that they didn't really know what was going on and were just speculating, you know, making crap up.

I think WoF desirves what they're getting after being robbed of a classic. Michigans Adventure really needs something if they want attendence to increase. Hopefully 06' will be the year, maybe an intamin hyper (please god make it so!) or a B&M invert. Either would slot really well into the place.

Knott's, Valleyfair! and Dorney Park have and are being pretty well taken care of, only Cedar Point has been getting more attention in the CF line. MA and WoF need some love.

And Cedar Fair needs to learn to take care of woodies, first Mean Streak, then Goustrider and now Shivering Timbers... From what I've heard all three are shadows of their former selfs, only Timbers running nearly as well, since it's the parks prime attraction and all. Maybe I'm crazy, but that's what I think.

Well do you think they will go by there somewhat visible pattern

1996: Wild Thing
1999: Wild Mouse
2000: Power Tower
2003: Steel Venom
2005: Riptide & Skyscraper
2006: B&M?

My point is wild thing was three years and then wild mouse then power tower for three years then steel venom then if that pattern went on it would be Riptide & Skyscraper then three years then B&M but thats thrill rides and coasters.

If it was just coasters it would be

1996: Wild Thing
1999: Wild Mouse
2003: Steel Venom
2006-2007: B&M

No, VF gets their new coaster in 2007. The new is still wearing off of Steel Venom and I think they'll ride it out for one more season. Also look for the amphitheatre to be on the way out.

Well first of all we don't have any pictures of the flags right now as it is hard to get shots of them due to their location. Currently they are located behind Grand Prix Raceway and run to the TimberWold helix. I heard that there were some surveyors out there again this week, however I cannot confirm that as I did not see them first hand. As for my absence...well I've been lurking and not posting. I only post when I have something to say. Finally thanks for you comments on MiG.

There's a member here who lives like 5 -10 minutes away from the B&M plant that produces the steel track for their coasters. They saw the unpainted steel track for Silver Bullet before it was sent off. I wonder if WOF's coaster could be up there yet?

FOR THE LAST TIME!!!!!

THE AMPITHEATER IS NOT LEAVING. I asked a guy on the last day of valleyfair season in 2004 and he said they wouldnt get rid of it unless they thought of a different way of showing there shows

A guy. Just some random guy. Unless he's in management, I wouldn't believe him, and even if he was in management he may do that to not give away too much about future plans.

ok i know this is a little late but.....I actually wouldnt mind if they got rid of excalibur..IF they made the new coaster along the lines of like a revenge type ride......and think about it.....the Excalibur layout would be awesome for an invert. of the 100' lift, into a vertical loop, then into an over bank. Now dont get me wrong, i love Excalibur.easily my favorite coaster there behing Wild Thing, but lets face it - nobody rides it inh the first place.

also remember: skyscraper was free, so about a $5 mil or w/e flat ride wont take too much out of VFs pocket.
