| Dollywood's HUGE NEW 3 Year attraction budget- what will it produce?
Then GM of Dollywood was recently quoted as saying Dollywood would invest $30 million into new attractions at the park in the next 3 years. That being said- what attractions will be coming due to this? I personally believe that we will finally get a B&M coaster, others seem to think DW may add a PowderKeg type ride of it's own. I think DW will consistently add rides in the future, their goal of 5 million guests per year is quite a ways off- they have discovered that major attractions pull in large numbers of new guests, thus, giving them more money....What is your opinion on what they will build?

I feel that most of this budget is going into a hotel or just expansion into the area behind Thunderhead Gap. I still don't think that another coaster is coming to the park for a few years at the least. I recall Ken Bell (Dollywood Company President) saying on WBIR that there will be a new ride next year, but it's not a roller coaster.

How come whenever a park gets money, or "due for a new ride", the first thing everyone assumes is the park is getting a B&M? It's not the only coaster company you know.

I think the money will be spread out ALOT like they did this year with country fair.

Dollywood is growing, and as a park grows...so do their coasters. They just got some serious wood with Thunderhead. So I think a custom B&M layout would be a nice addition to the park. $30 million though wouldn't allow for anything too extravagant though, especially if it is for multiple attractions as it says.

Well, Dollywood didn't necessarily said how the money would be spread out. Considering the park built Thunderhead for around $6 million, there is a lot of different things that could be done in the under $30 million range over a three year period.Plus, you have to remember that over the next fifteen years, nearly $200 million will be invested in new attractions alone for the park.

Great new things are coming. The reason I picked B&M out is that it has been rumored for a very long time, they already have an Arrow/S&S ride, and a GCII. It is rumored the park may build another woody in the next few years as well...something along the lines of Lightning Racer....

lol, how funny. A record breaker at Dollywood? That's like finding a clean store when you go to Kmart...impossible!

I think the park will update it's look a little by re-modeling a few areas and some minor park improvements. I also see a few flats being built but a also see one huge coaster coming out if it. 2008 would be my guess.

I saw get a Intamin giga that takes three years to build and rivals Millenium Force! That would bring tons and tons of people!

That would be cool. A giga winding through the woods and/or towering over the entire park. I see a floorless or a Invert persoanlly.

| New Rides for DW
My cousin works for Dollywood as a ride Op seasonally and there is a rumor among the ride ops that an S&S Power Launch Coaster, similar to Powder Keg, will be added. It is however a rumor so don't take what I say as fact!

I would believe that. That would be a nice addition to Dollywood. I would really like to see S&S do something new besides the first design. I know S&S would not be my first choice for a launched coaster but if true it ould be intresting. Persoanlly i would go to Intamin and premier 2nd for launch coasters.

I saw build a rocket similar to Kanonen or Storm Runner. That would be an extremely awesome addition to the park.

| I see no large coaster for the next three years. Maybe a Thunderhead type for no more than 10 million. Since it is only 30 million for the next three years and an average B&M costs $20-$25....well, that just doesn't calculate out. They will probably add another family thing like the County Fair, a thrilling ride uptop Thunderhead Gap, and something else. Maybe from the survey. |

Acually the park could build a nice sized B&M for less than 20 million. Top Gun was only 10 million.

Really, I think they should build a B&M coaster. A nicely themed floorless coaster.
