Post Cedar Point 2006 Mf island/frontier town rumor

Has any one heard any rumors about mf island/FT? All ive heard is piles of dirt on mf island and from the webcam from the top of ttd it looks to me as a clearing.

Denzil? Since when did Denzel Washington run the park? LOL I think your thinking of Dick Kinzel. Supposedly he has a big surprise for us all before he retires which is 2007, supposedly this surprise will make TTD look like nothing. I think it'd be nice to have something new next year though. Not to sound spoiled or anything, but the park could use another coaster before this big one. A new floorless or flyer would be nice.

oops.....thanks for the update.LOL

personally I'd like to get a flying coaster over the mf island.

For Kinzel's big prize I think possibly it could be a b&m drop machine but 500-600 feet tall with fast lift hill and some inversions!!!

Anyone know any info?

Hey man, the edit button is on the bottom right of your posts, no need for 3 in a row. Anyways I don't even know if a dive machine of that height would even be safe? Right now the only coaster cedar point could possibly get to that height would maybe be an S&S air launcher or a frequent faller.

If that's even possible, they might not even be making another record breaker...Maybe them dueling flyers aren't so farfetched after all.

Who said it has to be a B&M drp machine? For all we know Intamins next coaster may be a drop machine of some sort.

Well, let's see. CP has been to first to break 200, 300, and 400 ft. So could they be working on something 500 ft for this 2007 mystery coaster? They obviously won't build another rocket coaster, so what type would they use?

Something big and something intamin.

No clue for type or anything but my guess would be either Intamin or prehapse S&S, no one else in the industry would really want to build that big or have the ability to do so within the time frame.

I'll keep my eyes open when I'm there in a week and 1/2.

If there was a coaster that broke a height record I could see footer preperations going in by the end of this year...

Shouldn't be too far if it is indeed a height record (which really I'd rather have a fun looper froM B&M instead) we'll probably see some footer work going on by July (I think that was when the TTD area was closed off and they started working on TTD.

Wow, all of these rumors are so random. Does anybody have any evidence or real speculation as to what or when there next coaster will be. If he is retiring in 07' then why would the coaster be in 06'?

Also, who said it was going to be taller than TTD?

Well i've heard many rumors about a b&m flying coaster or b&m floorless( since DP got one) for 06 and another record breaker for 07.

If they are going to get a coaster for 06' then I can gurantee it'll be a fill in coaster. Like Wicked Twister was for TTD, which I have no clue why they got that as a "filler."

The rumored "dirt" on MF Island is absolutely nothing. Judging from the interest many of you are showing in this rumor, I am sure most have never seen this rumored "dirt". I have seen it several times this year, and trust me, it in no way resembles any construction.

Don't all of you think its a bit early for speculation anyway? Get out and enjoy the park for christsake. Save all this nonsense for November.

Having ridden Paddlewheel Excursions this year I can tell you that the only thing interesting to look at on Millennium Island are old pieces of long gone flat rides, and some of the old Frontier Lift cars.

From Screamscape:
Quote:
2006 - New Attraction - Rumor - (6/17/05) First Drop magazine has reported that a giant sized 40 seat version of the S&S Screamin’ Swing may very well be on the way to Cedar Point for 2006.
Quote:
2007 - B&M Flyer - Wild Rumor - (6/17/05) As much as I liked the idea of Cedar Point making their own version of Dueling Dragons with B&M Flyers, I’ve heard that this idea has either been dropped or put on the back burner. They’ve got something else in mind for the next big coaster in 2007 and it could involve the magic number “500”.

Imagine breaking 300, 400, and 500 feet all in one decade. That just sounds crazy; but it is possible. I just hope that you won't have to wear any special gear to keep from getting hurt.

all i have heard from www.pointpagecannotbedisplayed.net and staff members at the park is that the boat ride, what ever the hell its called is being removed this year, and a flyer is going into that spot, that is the rumor bertween CP staff members. the rumor between people who havent been to CP is that they are disassembling TTD and adding 100 feet.... both i think are good ideas, especially the last one LOL

They're taking down White Water Landing?! I love that ride, but if they get a great coaster to replace it, I won't mind too much. I'd still miss WWL though.

Correction, S&S has a 32 seater Screamin Swing not a 40...And if the park gets that next year that would be great. My only question is what exactly are they saving up for since they've gone cheap the past few years. They didn't get anything in 2004, 10 million on the Frisbee in 2005 and now this which doesn't cost that much. I know that for a fact because Kennywood is getting one just like it. Just think...They've saved so much money over the past few years that they are definetly getting something big in 2007. Whether it be the dueling flyers, or a 500 foot caoster, I'll be happy to go there for a senior trip.

Haha...I'm aiming towards 450-500 foot dive machine...BGTs contract with B&M supposedly ends in 2007 so it's a possiblity. You never know.

That would be awesome to go down that far at a 90* angle.

I think we need to start thinking realisticly though. How about a 500 foot dueling-diving flyer!
