2008 - New Coaster - Rumor - (6/30/05) This very long range rumor claims that the park will install a third Intamin coaster in 2008 that will be a new prototype of some kind. The only prototype design I know Intamin is working on is the Ball coaster, their answer to Arrow’s 4th Dimension coaster design. Still... 2008 is a long ways away right now and it’s far too easy for plans to change between now and then.

With the way sf is going I could see this happening

I think it's far to early to tell. With money problems, changed plans, shifts in popular parks, I think it's too far away to be able to speculate what might come.

What a pipedream so far. It's pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

I like the idea of the park getting this. The way they are going they are really becoming a travel destenation. I think the whole 5 yeah deal with Intamin is true. If they get this coaster then this park will be set for years to come. Sfgadv is really becoming the Xtreme park and the MAIN six flags park.

That or maybe a drop tower. Either one would be great for the park. I could see this happening but I want them to focus their attention on opening KK and the woodie for now.

Omg, you've gotta be kidding me. Already? Come on people it's not even 2006! I'm really getting tired of all these SFGAdv coaster threads, especially since "The Year of the King" isn't even over yet. Your already saying they are getting a wooden coaster, drop tower AND another Intamin Prototype. Seriousl people, why don't you enjoy what you have before you wish for more. All you SFGAdv zealots are ungrateful and take what you have for granted. Geez, you guys have the tallest and fastest coaster, why do you want more. Oh yeah, I forgot, that coaster isn't working right now.

And like Chris says, just what the park needs...Two fairly new Intamin coasters that barely work and Six Flags can't keep open. I guess Six Flags can never make too many mistakes.

Don't you guys think this is just an attention ploy to keep us jibber-jabbing about SFGADV? Kingda Ka is down, the VIPER deconstruction and site markings for a possible new coaster is not enough it seems. We now have to deal with this crazy rumor.

Yesterday I made sure I did not take SFGADV for granted. I got rides in on NITRO, CHILLER, Skull Mountain, Medusa, GASM, B:TR, and RT. I'm still surprised there's a Gen 1 Intamin freefall tower there. It was not running @ SFGADV and SFMM earlier this week.

Wait. Six Flags Magic Mountain has X, the same idea, also a prototype. Why would it be a bad idea. X does very well, and having one on the East Coast would boost business. If X did and still does very well, why wouldn't a prototype at Six Flags Great Adventure not do well. When Great Adventure premiered Nitro, Kingda Ka, Medusa and Superman: Ultimate Flight, they all did well. Medusa was the first of its kind and it did extremely well (and still does). I think they are going to build a "Ball Coaster" because of their growing partnership with Intamin AG.

LMAO. That ball coaster looks like a new version of Viper. It looks like a very unreliable design as well.

I hope it's only that ugly because it's a prototype version right now. I'd hate to see that the version(s) going into parks would look like that. Being that it's an Intamin, I think it will look great. I've yet to see a modern Intamin I didn't think looked great. Even though X had it's problems, it sure does look nice, certainly better than the Ball Coaster thus far.

Intamin will make it look good. Practically all of their coasters are good looking. Look at Millennium Force's lighting at night, it's incredible. And Intamin AG will make it extreme, like their other coasters.

Does anyone else believe that SFGAV doesn't deserve ANOTHER coaster for atleast
4-5 years after the opening of the wooden coaster? Why would six flags feed them a another coaster while other six flags parks are dieing of starvation?

I don't see why they would put another coaster in the park only one year after putting into two coasters during consecutive years. I just don't see this happening.

Well, if the deal is made, then it must be an existing model. I tihnk it would be an aquatrax. I know, it sounds cheesy, but I can't think of anything else. Besides, if it's another launcher, that's cool with me.

Geez can you imagine if Six Flags installed one of those babies. I can just imagine the tackiness of the themeing right now. They'd probably design it after Mr. Six or another animal that has absolutely nothing to do with the ride experience. Kinda like Kingda Ka.

Mr. Six would probably be the theme. I just hate him so, so much. Unless, hopefully, he's out of the picture by then. I don't think Kingda Ka is badly themed, I like the whole tiger thing. I like all cats. I bet you knew that.

But what does tigers have to do with launching at 128 mph...At least TTD's theme kinda makes since as with Xcelerator and Storm Runner. But a tiger for a coaster that goes 128 mph...It just doesn't fit in my eyes. They should have stuck with MAXXX. lol

Did SF sue Intamin?

The only thing the ball coaster has almost nothing realted to the 4d except the seats on the side.

Sort of like a 4d seats with impulse track and a turbulence type layout.

Maybe they should put this ball coaster at the bottom of Kingdaka and make it complete.

Theres already a link in this thread. Anyway, the original 4D looks better. The Intamin prototype can't even navigate turns. That narrows down the number od possibilities for track designs.

Seriously though, most of the SFGAdv fanboys on the site (with the exception of a few like medieval and rjholla) really give the park a bad name. For one, you make the park look greedy and selfish and you give just SFGAdv guests a bad name. It might seem like I hate the park, but I just like to give you guys a bad time. You guys just take things to heart to seriously. In reality, I have nothing against the park, but the fans it's another story. Like, can't you seriously be happy with what you have instead of demanding more and more? You got the worlds tallest and fastest coaster, even if it's not working, you still have the record right? And next year you guys are probably getting another woodie. But the thing is, why the hell are you guys worried about what your getting in two or even three years! It's really just sick watching all this because like, I have friends that go to SFGAdv and they don't act like some of the people on here. Most of the people that attend SFGAdv on this site just have their head to far up you know where. Really, is it really necessary to be talking about what the park might be getting in 2008 when 2005 isn't even over yet! Seriously though, that's three years. You definetly don't see people that visit CP, like me, talking about what we're getting in 2010. Sure we talk about 2007, but we know we're getting something big because of Kinzel retiring. So seriously, this thread is completely pointless and really, it's not helping anybody.
