This is going to end up in the rumors forum I bet. Money promised to be spend in 2006 we do know about. I hope it is NITRO like but not a NITRO clone.

My First Post:

I love La Ronde (Home Park) and I can't wait for construction to start. Shouldn't we see pieces arriving now to late August? Hyper coasters/large coasters take long to build. This year is gonna be La Ronde's best season, I can't wait!

Is it gonna be around the Mini Golf area? Would that be the station? Where would it go? I could see it wrapping around the outside of the park from fireworks to Boomerang going behind Monster.

they indeed need to invest at least 38 millions (CDN), so the chances of seeing a hyper are big. Nothing is said about the model/company of the coaster, so I would guess it could be an Intamin. Pieces are probably coming soon...

^This suddenly came out of the blue. I'm not expecting anything big from the park anyways.

Is there some sort of LaRonde fansite that had discussions with the park? Where this rumor started?

Hey, I haven't seen you here in a while.

Anyways, they can always plant a bunch of trees or add some flats and stuff.

SixFlags promised to Montreal city to invest 38 millions dollars this year and this is supposed to be respected. If Sf can do a Children area with 5-10 millions dollars imagine with 38! All the La Ronde's forum members are looking carefully for construction signs!
Maybe it will not be a hyper, but it could be a floorless, flying, sit down, any kind of coaster! You can do a lot with 38 millions!

Acctually there indeed will be a new hyper coaster at La Ronde. It will be exactly like Nitro about more then 200 feet in height. The reason I'm sure is because I am a season ticket holder and today I asked a worker there if there will be any new rides for next year and he told me. He said they will put it behind the Monstre.

HEY HEY, good news. Some people take pictures of construction markers when the hyper coaster is suposed to be (minigolf, medieval village and in the parking near the marina). It looks like it will be big!

I just heard from a friend in Montreal that he spotted B&M track in the parking lot earlier this week.

(9/7/05) Everyone has now jumped on the bandwagon to confirm a B&M Hyper for the park, with a layout that is said to look like it was inspired by Nitro, but not a clone. Meanwhile you can see all the local talk about the ride as well as images showing off what the ride may look like at the La Ronde forums.
(9/2/05) Our latest rumor claims that the park will add a near clone of Nitro, a B&M Hypercoaster, for next season. So far we have no proof of anything yet, though Six Flags does seem to be working with B&M on a few coasters already in 2006.
(8/29/05) While we’re not sure exactly what is going on at La Ronde at this time, it was pointed out again in a local newspaper article (La Presse) has spent $55 million of the $90 million they promised to invest in the park over the first five years of ownership when they purchased it in 2001, leaving $35 million left for the 2006 season. Going along with this, another source claims that pieces for something from “Martin & Vleminckx” have arrived.
(8/19/05) Another reader sent in a few photos of the survey markings around the park.
(8/18/05) A reader tells us that they spotted what appeared to be construction survey markings in the park, starting at the minirail station in the Village area and moving to the diving pool and throughout the Mini Golf area. There are also other marks in the parking areas near the marina.

All this from screamscape.com

So I guess that proves some people wrong eh?

If this is to become a B&M hyper, I will be very happy. Not only that, I would want to make La Ronde a higher priority to visit since they would have my favorite coaster type.

Keeping my fingers crossed on this one .

I do remember reading that Six Flags Inc had purchased 3 B&Ms for the 06 season. Maybe this is number 3.

Latest I've heard from my friend in Montreal is that the announcement is scheduled for some time in October, and the newest rumour is that this will be a close to Silverstar layout.

Hey guys, I've got some news and pictures from la Ronde, the work here is doing well and the real construction is beggining! The station base is there and there are metal beams on the ground near the parking .There is also a big advertising saying ''future site of high thrills, more details coming soon''.

These are good news for la Ronde, and for the major coaster they will receive!

This is the link of the pictures: http://www.invisionplus.net/forums/i...opic=49&st=525

Sorry for my bad english...

The mini golf course actually no longer exists, and is now a hole in the ground. They started tearing it up sometime after peak season, right after Labour Day...

Whatever their new "high thrills ride" is, its definately going in there, according to the sign. So far, there are no pieces or markings around, just a couple of holes and rubble.....

I have my personal doubt about it being a coaster, though, based on the area...unless it goes beyond the current gates behind the Jupiter restaraunt, it doesnt have the size that La Ronde usually devotes to roller coaster line ups...

Security chased me out (apparently I was doing drugs??!!) before I could get a very good look around in back...
